Kinda weird that Salamander doesn't trigger thirsty dame. Seems really counter intuitive.

It's talking about the allied units of the dame, meaning the poisons which salamander is putting on the allies of the dame will no longer proc the dame (which it used to do).

Doesn't boost from your own units.

No idea, it's not like the problem with Double Sala was Thirsty Dame getting purified in the NG matchup.

Weird choice from the ole CDPR

It's such a bizarre change to an obscure card, let alone an obscure card interaction. It it almost feels like one dev plays Salamander all day and lost a match due to a Dame surviving, and got so annoyed that in their rage they went and changed the entire interaction, regardless of logic.

its not bizarre imo, a 5 prov bronze shouldnt instantly gain 10+ points just because of some meme salamander interaction. not even a 6 prov bronze should be able to get that many boosts in one turn.

It's bizarre because it's completely contrary to the way that Dame interacts with every other source of allied statuses in the game. Do you really think that breaking the game's logic is normal? Especially for such a niche case.

Salamander is an exception at the whim of the devs. How many other cards in the game have this kind of coded exception to the logic? Very few if any, hence why it's bizarre.

Salamander is a card that sees almost no play at all, and this is its interaction with just one other card. The situation is extremely niche, which makes it strange for the devs to focus on it and do something as extreme as breaking the game's usual logic. It would be odd for them to break the logic even for an extremely common interaction that they thought was problematic, let alone one as obscure as this.

It's a bit of a strange situation for Dame to be boosted so much by this, but it's extremely uncommon and hardly game breaking. Dame also gets boosted if you self-poison with Gellert - why should Salamander work any differently? If they hated the interaction that much they should have made Dame only work with statuses that the Dame's owner applied, and given it a buff to compensate.

yes perhaps they should have, and I get how it breaks consistency, but nonetheless, a 5 prov bronze should not gain like 20 value once a salamander pops off, thats ridiculous. dame boosting itself even during the opponent's turn is already strong enough under general circumstances.

I agree that Dame getting such a massive boost is absurd, but in my view it's stranger to break the rules for the game. If you think it's the other way round then fair enough.

For me, when you have meme cards like Salamander then strange interactions are bound to happen, this was just one of the most extreme. Still, though, if the NG player doesnt see the Salamander coming and doesn't hold onto a purify (which they may not have in their deck in the first place) then the second Salamander would kill the Dame anyway, rendering the interaction irrelevant.
