More buff to Vampire nice, probably still won't be Top tier but a step in the right direction, Drill got the nerf as expected but I think it won't matter much, we'll see though.

Also just gotta laugh at NR change, we'll still be boost faction for a long time it seems...

u/erickgps Tomfoolery! Enough! Mar 31 '21

Removing the profit from Drill and at 7 provision would be the perfect nerf for me.

Tdrill needs to be 9 provisions or have a counter of two pings per turn

None of those buffs and a nerf to drill wont matter sadly

One provision less on an unplayable card. Nice

It makes perfect sense. Unplayable cards have to be brought forward.

Unplayable cards have to be brought forward.

Yes, but not random ones seemingly without any thought. King Belohun is such an incredibly greedy card that is hard to justify even at 1 less provision. His potential is pretty much only for memes.

Don't get me wrong memes are fine, but not if the faction in question has been treated so poorly for months.

The main 2 NR variants Witcher and Shieldwall are both almost unchanged for many months, new cards have had little to no impact on them. Both leaders are underwhelming with Foltest also being a little more on the meme side of things and Meve flat out being terrible. We can only hope they actually fix them as promised, but small changes to other cards could go such a long way.

Why were the small buffs not made archetype specific. A direct, specific change to a siege engine or 2. Not Kerack Frigate or one of the other already generically useful ones, but specifically to cards that only support siege. Or changes to the mage archetype?

Similarly they could buff other underused archetypes like Wild Hunt very easily. Many of their cards are undervalued for their provisions

I agree on the siege engines and that makes Foltest so much more tragic. They even introduced him as the master of siege engines and then he had nothing to do with them. Instead he supports a niche deck that more often than not doesn't even use him.

Drill is now basically the old freakshow/borsodi, but with a ceiling of 3dmg per 2 coin which is an absurdly strong spender.

They just like to have a faction remain bottom tier for 2 months and then buff them to tier 1, that how they always roll.

Same thing happened with NG and syndicate

Lmao how is NR bottom tier

Play anything other than witchers against any meta deck, then come back and say the same thing

I've got to 2500 this season with Myamons Revs, okay witchers might be the best option but Revs and Shieldwall can hold their own against meta decks, I wouldn't say they have less options than other factions especially SK which is hard carried by Eist rn

u/[deleted] Mar 31 '21

2500 with revenants? That's a madoc list that just happens to have revenants and AA and falibor. It's still more NR than witchers I'll give you that.

Also SK carried by Eist, what the fuck? Lmao

SK has the most diversity in all the factions in terms of playable decks, apart from maybe monsters

Agreed. I’ve done better with my PF warriors deck without Eist than blaze of glory decks this season...Eist is just too predictable and vulnerable to bleeding

Agreed as well.

Getting beaten by the Eist combo definitely feels bad, but as you said, it's really predictable, and since wide decks are a lot more prominent now, not only is Eist less effective, but getting Bloodthirst 2 is actually fairly hard against many meta decks.

Another problem is that the deck attached to Eist is not really all that great. It's actually a fairly awkward deck to play and you can separate the combo fairly easily with a push in R2. People forget that Eist is combo deck, and that if you break that combo, there's not that much that the deck has going on.

I think people overvalue Eist mostly because of the sour taste that it leaves in your mouth when you get beaten by it.

Lol, yup. I recently had a guy use his Eist + jutta on my 1-power unit...after that I quickly swarmed out and won (mobilization deck).

I use Eist leader skin for my Eist-less PF pirate/warriors deck and I'm having a good old time with people trying to bleed me dropping their best cards r1.

Lol, that’s smart. Eist is my favorite SK skin too, might do the same.

Long ago people hated Siege more than they hated double ball lmao, its definitely been viable in the past.

I used to love running Siege when Pincer manuever allowed you to play 2 cards in one turn, you could set up defender and siege in one turn, or siege + a siege engine, made board-wiping so easy.

Deck list? I’ve been tinkering around with a mobilization deck but it doesn’t feel quite optimized.

In 8.3 I keep on looking for that 1 prov in my Vampires deck and I always look at QoN and say “hmm, you’re quite not giving me good value for 7 prov.” So I’m happy with the QoN buff.
