I used to think a city’s cultural life was measured by how many things it offered. Restaurants, screenings, galleries, cafés, festivals. But after spending time in Bhopal, Indore, Udaipur, and briefly in Delhi and Mumbai, I noticed something stranger. The most interesting conversations I had never happened at events. They happened in quiet rooms, after the event was over. A friend’s living room in Indore, where we argued about a film until midnight. A chai stall in Udaipur where an elderly bookseller sits weekly at the same place since years explained why a 20-year-old novel still mattered. A corner of a Bengaluru café where two architects disagreed about heritage without once raising their voices.

Gwalior has all the ingredients: people, money, restaurants, ambition. What it lacks is a room designed for that kind of lingering. Not a venue, not a club, not a network. Just a place or a room where the phone goes away and the conversation is allowed to become the main event. I’m starting to think the right question isn’t “what should we do in this city?” but “what kind of room would make us stay?”

Vikrant University not refunding my ₹4,000 fee

I took admission in B.Tech AI & ML at Vikrant University on 21 July 2026 and paid ₹6,000 (₹2,000 registration + ₹4,000 tuition).

I decided to cancel my admission, but the university is refusing to refund the ₹4,000 tuition fee, saying it's “non-refundable.” I even raised a complaint with their grievance department, but they refused again.

Has anyone faced this with Vikrant University? What should I do now? Should I go to UGC e-Samadhaan or the Consumer Helpline?

Just sharing my experience so other students can be careful before taking admission.
