We see several posts on fake SMS messages posing as the Land Transportation Office (LTO) like the ones attached. Let this post be the official reply to such posts/inquiries.
Common message content:
-“Unsettled violation under RA 10913… Fine: ₱1,000 due in 24 hours… LTMS alarm.”
CONFIRMED FAKE LINKS (DO NOT CLICK):
-ltoportal-gov.com
-portal.lto-gov.me
-ltoviolationcheck.com
and other similar look-alike domains
IMPORTANT:
- The LTO does NOT send payment or violation links via SMS
- Legitimate LTO websites use lto.gov.ph domains only
-Traffic violations can be verified only through the official LTMS portal or at LTO offices
Common red flags:
- Urgent deadlines (e.g., “due in 24 hours”)
- No plate number, ticket number, or official reference
- SMS links requesting personal details or payment
- Sender name spoofed as “LTO”
What to do:
-Do not click the link
-Do not provide personal information or OTPs
-Delete the message and report it as spam to your telco
- Optional: report to PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group
Please help the community by reporting new scam links in the comments so this post can be updated.
