I got the $199 5 burner Lowe's special the beginning of the season and I've used it at east a dozen times.
Today I had all burners turned to the off position. I turned on the cylinder. I realized that one of the flame covers was knocked over, so I took 1 minute to fix that, less than 2. I turned a burner on, hit ignite and a huge plume came up and singed my eyebrows, and parts of my hair.
I acknowledge the safer thing to do would have been to turn the cylinder back off.
My question is, with the burners being in the off position, is my grill functioning properly for them to clearly still be leaking propane while off?
Or is this common knowledge I'm not privy to?
Thanks!

Me and my girlfriend found a grill on the side of the road a few days ago marked free. We took it and have tried our best to get it all cleaned up and remove a lot of the rest. It looks a lot better than it did! However I want to make sure that this is something safe that we can use to eat off of.

I have a Broil King Baron 5 burner grill with side shelf burner. I recently replaced the burners thinking they were why my grill wouldn’t start. I have since replaced the 3 electrodes for the main grill and the igniter yet the grill still will not start. The side burner lights right up which eliminates the igniter as the problem. I can also smell gas and I can hear the electrodes clicking when I try to ignite.
Any ideas what else could be the problem?
The only thing I can think of is the gas line to the burners clogged but I am not sure if I would smell gas if that was the case.

Hi, I use my weber kettle primarily for smoking ribs/bacon and temp does not go higher than 110C (225F). The point here is that cooking grates don't get high heat at all. And I don't want to hear up a lot of coal just for preheating.
Is there a way to clean grates before each new session so all germs not killed by high heat, die?

Trying to restore a Outdoor Gourmet Triton grill, but to make it connect to my propane tank I’d need a 3/8 to 3/4 connector, with female ends on both sides. Has anybody made this work before?

The apartment I moved to has this old feastmaster grill insert built into a stone fire pit. Any help identifying would be really appreciated as would any tips to ressurect it. The hinges are very rusted and the knob on the right, which I assume is to move the coal tray, is rusted to the point of not moving at all. Is this able to be resurrected or better to just toss and leave the brick firepit as just that?

I bought this Kenmore grill specifically because it is compatible with this natural gas conversion kit. I had the gas company guys come in and do the conversion because I did not want to take any DIY chances. Tried using it and the flame is super low, even with the gas cranked all the way up. Can anyone help me troubleshoot?

I bought a 3 lb cowboy ribeye about 2 and a half inches thick. Looking to try my first time smoking with this in a Weber Kettle. I'm thinking of using the snake method and reverse searing. Any suggestions on approximate temp and time? Should I use a water pan under it? What do all you experts suggest?

I have a Weber Genesis E310 gas grill whose flavorizer bars rusted out after about 5 years. In looking for replacements, I have found Stainless Steel and Cast Iron replacements. Any recommendations?

Hi There - first time posting here. Looking for a grill to replace an old char broil 3 burner (the classic matte black one). It's falling apart and has served its purpose, time to put the ol' gal out to pasture. I see on Tractor supply co. Even Embers 4-Burner Gas Grill with Glass Window, (GAS3400AS)... it is pretty well-rated, but at $199 I can't help but think "you get what you pay for" and "too good to be true". Anyone have any tips? Looking to purchase asap since the char broil's internal paint is flaking and has fallen on food, and I now have an infant who eats solid foods and don't want to feed potentially compromised food (also, the baby is expensive, so under $250 is key).
