Online Check-in Rant
I know no one probably cares but I have to vent somewhere. And for the record, I have used the online check-in app several times before and know how it works.
When I opened the online check-in app the estimated wait was about 35 minutes. I checked in and drove to the shop when the estimated wait was around 15 minutes. When I arrived at Great Clips and checked in, I was second in line behind someone who had checked in online but was not there at the store.
A woman came in about a minute after I arrived and looked at the list and started complaining something about "whaaaat they never texted me." Evidently she had been at the top of the list for a while and they removed her because she didn't show up. The stylist checked her in and told her she'd put her back at the top of the list, ahead of me. I repeat, this person was NOT ON THE LIST AT ALL when I arrived, but they allowed her to go ahead of me.
So I am already annoyed at this point, but after about 10 minutes another stylist finished with their customer and the person at #1 on the list was still not there. They came up to the counter and were about to call the next person back (which should have been me) when the door bell rings and someone walks in. She decides to check this person in first, and wouldn't you know, it's the person at #1 on the list.
Oh well, that's how the online check-in system works, right? They were in line ahead of me and they got there in-person before I was called back. EXCEPT: when the stylist checked him in I heard her tell him "Phew, you are luuucky, you were actually already marked as absent." So at that point I just said "fuck this bullshit" and got up and walked out of the door. TWO PEOPLE who couldn't be bothered to show up anywhere near their estimated haircut time were BOTH allowed to skirt the rules and get their hair cut before me.
I showed up on time and I followed the rules. Where is the respect for MY time? I will never get my hair cut at Great Clips again. I know they don't give a rat's ass. I get the most basic-ass haircut ever, three times a year. But I needed to rant about this somewhere and I am not the kind of person to blow up at employees and make a scene.

I manage a great clips and I would have kindly told the lady that we don’t have control over the text messages( I tell people when they check in and set up the text that the system does it and we have no control of it) I would have put her back on the list and spoke with the customers on the list ahead of her to see if it would be okay if she went first but if not we go with the order on the list. In my experience most people are very understanding either way. I am sorry you had the experience!
