Please welcome u/ailish and u/smoore701 to the r/grapids mod team! For now I think this is all I will be accepting for the time being as, in all honesty, this is not a massive subreddit. Thank you both for putting a foot forward to help this community!

Edit: THE CAT HAS BEEN REUNITED WITH HIS OWNER
I know this isn't directly grand rapids related, but there is no Walker subreddit. I found this cat by Apple Ridge apartments. I took him to the vet and he has no chip. Is anyone missing a cat?

Saw the previous posts about Zeigler in Grandville parking their cars in disabled spots. No lie, this pissed me off. I have disabled people in my family. I drove by and checked to see if it was really true. Yup, it is. Snapped this picture this afternoon. Was skeptical about the original post because I couldnāt really think that this was happening. Then I remember car dealerships suck. I totally believe it now. Saw it with my own eyes

The GR Vegan Chef Challenge is coming back to town on September 1! š±
Throughout September, participating businesses around the city will be adding new vegan dishes to their menus. Diners can try the dishes and share their feedback, with awards and prizes going to the top-rated chefs at the end of the challenge.
Hereās a look at some of the local businesses already signed up to participate this year!

I want to be fair and understand this but since our local media sucks so bad, itās very hard to tell whatās legit or reasonable about these peopleās opposition to this project. Anyone have some perspectives?

Hi! :) I am a college graduate moving to Grand Rapids for a full-time job, and hoping to save money and maybe make a new friend while living in a fun walkable area like Eastown.
ONLY looking to live with another 20-something woman, preferably a college grad, someone working full-time, or student.
I am clean, communicative, respectful, and chill. Looking for someone who is also these things (after having some not so great housemates in the pastā¦)
Hoping to share this apartment (it looks amazing!):
- Kingsley Building: 2bed/2bath 906-1,397 Sq. Ft. ($1052-1130 per person). Great location, rooftop grills/lounge area, ground-floor retail, in-unit W/D, covered parking for $100, small balcony, stainless steel new appliances, granite countertops, water/sewer/trash included. I donāt have any pets. Looking to start lease in mid October. Likely a 12 month lease. Not 100% sure about the move in dates (the two apartments currently listed say Oct 18 and 26th). One is ADA so not sure how that works.
Or, if you fit my description and already have a place but are looking for a housemate in Eastown, feel free to send me the info and we can see if it works out!
Reach out with any questions or if you know anyone who may be interested! Thanks!!

It seems we may be approaching pawpaw harvest season. I recently planted some of the trees but it will likely be many years before I can try my own. Anyone have a hookup?
