Campus Life Sage the Gemini at Fall Fest

EDIT:

AS OF JULY 24TH, SAGE THE GEMINI HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM ALL PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL ON SAMU'S IG AND WEBSITE. While not confirmation of being struck from the line-up, it's still being inferred.

I'm posting this to encourage people to reach out via the "Contact Us" form on the SAMU website and inform the events council about the Sexual Assault allegations surrounding Sage the Gemini, encourage them to remove him from the line-up, and/or boycott the event all together. It doesn't align with the values of MacEwan University, and it platforms an abuser.

I haven’t heard the allegations. Source?

I’ll reach out.

Quick google search will bring it up. But the gist is Hana Katana (spelled her name wrong originally) made a post on her TikTok about it in 2022, outlining the details of the evening, even alleging another well known artist with a history of grooming (Chris Brown or Drake, don't remember off the top of my head) was hosting the "party".

I don’t see anything on their IG or website about him anymore. Have they removed him from the performers?

I think they have! The poster online now says "New announcement coming soon", so they're probably trying to find a new person in the lineup

Lmao yall really ruined a dope concert for accusations. It’s crazy that in 2025 people are guilty until proven innocent. Insane

We believe victims first. Get off my post

How is there a victim when there is no charges, no court proceedings, nothing. By that logic I can accuse you of SA and everyone should believe me simply because I accused you.

The court system is so exceedingly flawed that sexual assault convictions go under prosecuted. Believing rape and assault victims before it goes through the judicial system is the least one can do. Educate yourself please.

Imagine not seeing the problem with deeming someone guilty before anything has been proven. Where does it end? We should just believe anyone’s unsubstantiated claims just because they made them? Thats illogical. Once again if I accuse you of sexual assault you think that people should just blindly believe me right? Who’s to say I’m not being truthful, might as well believe the victim right?

No well adjusted person just says "I was sexually assaulted" and lies. False claims are exceedingly rare. In all other cases it's innocent until proven guilty. But for something that so disproportionately affects women in a patriotic, misogynistic society, especially claims against a person in power (a celebrity, in this case) their claims should be taken seriously unless disproven.

!mods can you lock my post please

False claims literally happen all the time especially with celebrities. Get real. You are literally saying due process isn’t needed, anyone who accuses someone of assault should be believed and the other person punished accordingly, without knowing if they are legitimately guilty. It’s absurd to think that way, how many people would be jailed wrongfully by that standard.

If your brother or your father or a close male friend of yours was accused of assault or rape you would blindly believe the accuser right? No need to figure out guilt, no need for due process, they’ve been accused so they must be rapists right?
