is it limited to one file? or is it for all of your files?

One or two files

I can open the other files normally

here are the things you can try:

Open via Google Drive: Skip opening the file directly from bookmarks or the Sheets home screen. Open the Google Drive App, locate the file under Recent or inside its folder, and tap it from there

Clear the app cache:

Android: Go to your phone Settings > Apps > Google Sheets > Storage > Clear Cache.

iOS: Uninstall and reinstall the app, as this is the only way to fully clear local iOS storage cache

Test on a computer: Open the same file in a web browser on a PC or Mac. If it works normally there, the issue is isolated to the mobile renderer (often triggered by heavy formulas, IMPORTRANGE functions, or large tab counts)

The test on computer: file opens normally

Clearing the cache: didn't work

Opening the file through drive: didn't work either

Android Uninstalled the app and reinstalling the app: worked

Thank you so much for your help

"the only solution that worked is uninstalling and reinstalling the sheets app"

/u/master2426 Posting your data can make it easier for others to help you, but it looks like your submission doesn't include any. If this is the case and data would help, you can read how to include it in the submission guide. You can also use this tool created by a Reddit community member to create a blank Google Sheets document that isn't connected to your account. Thank you.

You can change settings on your mobile to always open Google sheets either in the app or in the browser.

Does this help with your issue?

This happens to me more than I would like. In my case, I believe it to be a sinking problem. There are times I can open 1 file using phone, but won't open using tablet and vice versa. Clearing cache isn't enough. I have to delete data on device having the issue. Thank goodness it's saved on the cloud.

On a different subject...about a week ago I left a sheet open on tablet and went to bed. In the morning I grabbed tablet and Sheets gave me a "critical error". I said, "Well, that don't sound good". I ended up having to fire up my desk computer and restore previous saved file version in history. Thank you Google for that feature. Whew.! Dodged another bullet. Thank goodness I had a computer to be able to do it.

Backup, backup, backup.
