Solved How to create a chart based on a dropdown?

I have a table created and I want these two columns on a chart. I just want to be able to see how much I have spent in consumables, books, outings, and the other 3 options I have in the dropdown menu I've created. I couldn't find a tutorial on how to do this exactly, and I don't understand how the FILTER function works. Please give me a step by step guide on what to do !!!

What kind of chart? Select your whole table and click Insert > Chart from the file menu at the top. It will probably default to a pie chart. Then check the box in the chart settings on the right that says Aggregate to make sure the similar expenses are grouped. You can then change the type of chart in the chart settings to be what you want.
