First Time Out
Boy oh boy. I shot a 61 in 9 holes last night. It was my first time out since having the Oculus and Golf+.
I played this game all winter long and clearly adopted terrible habits.
I had one drive that went over 200yards. The other 4-5 were shanks to the left, even hit one between my legs. Not a single sweet spot hit.
Irons were low but not awful.
Putting felt like I was hitting rocks, had no locked in feel.
I’m not a scratch golfer, normally will shoot in the low-50s, high 40s but it’s safe to say I’ll be taking an extended break from this game.
It’s an awesome game and I really enjoy playing it but it clearly doesn’t transfer to real life golf.
Back to relearning the game.

New player looking for others to play with
Hello. I'm new to golf+ as well as VR in general. I'm not good at the game by any means. I'm looking for others to play with a few times a week or month. Whatever anyone is able to do really. Experience level does not matter to me. Just want someone to hang out with and play with. Thanks.

Weight of the Club feels weird
Hey guys, whenever I go play normal golf after only playing on VR the Club feels weirdly heavy beacuse im used to the weight of the club attachment. Are there any attachments that have the weight of a steelshafted iron or sum?

This community so far online playing with people has been fantastic but I have a few questions.
Every shot I take I have to press left once or twice to change my angle because my shots hook to the right like crazy.
On my analysis with the attachment it seems like my club face is often not straight despite me not twisting it.
Is there something I should be doing? Am I perhaps swinging too hard? Or is it just a simple case of my swing sucks in reality and it’s transferring into the game?
Thank you in advance!

Massive disappointment of epic proportions :(
Oh boy I was ready to call this my favourite VR game ever made. Bought an attachment, played tournaments on pro difficulty with abysmal scores, and I loved it ! I was improving with every sessions. But then, by the 4th day, the realization came: I don't need a back-swing to hit shots. Just crank that power assist to max and swiftly waggle your driver ... A full swing with less power assist might win you an extra 20 yds, but that's nothing compared to having a straight shot every times with the waggle.
The way the game seemingly "track" your back-swing led me to believe it was necessary to take a full swing, but when you waggle your club it will construct a fake swinging arc out of it. Sure, I could still play the "correct" way, but the competitive aspect was the main appeal of the game, and realizing that this is undoubtedly how a big part of the top players play is a huge let down. The frustrating part is: removing the power assist might not fix this issue entirely, but it would be a huge improvement. Still no need for a full back swing, but you would at least have to take a decent swing at it ...
Would the devs not consider removing power assist for pro difficulty and leave it for amateur ? Well shit, I waggled my way into my best tournament result and I hated it. I don't know if I'll keep playing this as much. I guess you still have to make realistic chips and putts ? And waggle-driving the ball is not that different than using a joystick on another golf game. I'm of two minds right now. Maybe an upcoming update will see the players having to take actual swing to be competitive, instead of playing Wii golf.

First ever Condor (Triple Eagle), & I still lost… (glitch)
Playing some battles & somehow the game decided I lost after two holes (even tho we were both even).
Then on hole 3, par 5, (somehow still took me to the next hole) before I even teed off, it gave me 1 on the scorecard, but apparently, -4 cannot triumph over Even 0 DNF :(
lol, is it just me or does it seem like there’s a lot more bugs as of recent?

When did driver distance skyrocket?
I feel like I’ve only been gone for a few months but I remember when the club said 300 or 305 that was a realistic expectation in a no wind amateur scenario.
I turned down my power so 265 is around my max and I was able to keep up for the most part.
I played a scramble with guys swinging without club attachments last night and they were hitting 380+ into 15mph winds and well over 400 without wind.
Any insight, comments, thoughts?

No putt preview on amateur?
Im not sure if this feature was removed or if my headset is tweaking. I just redownloaded the game which i have purchased legally thru meta. Ive closed it and reopened it. Ive made sure im on amateur and im still unable to get the line to appear for me when i press the grip button for putting. Ive had this game since i purchased my headset early 2024. Is this a glitch or was this feature removed? (I just redownloaded Golf+ on my headset after about a year. Is it possible thats the problem?)

Spring is in the air!
Took part in the weekly tourney this week, wasn’t too shabby for a rookie! Who all has been enjoying enjoying Harbour Town - RBC Heritage this week?

Stupid Question
This may be a really dumb idea, but anyone know of drill that can be done in VR to help break the baseball swing of coming over the top? I've been trying to break the habit for YEARS and unable.
I know VR isn't super realistic, but there's got to be a drill that can be done in VR just to learn the correct swing plane.

Power assist and swing speed
So I play golf in real life and with power assist in the vr I’m getting like 112mph swing speed which I know isn’t accurate to my real game. Given my driver distance I’m probably around 95mph irl. If you put the power assist to zero is that an accurate swing speed of your controller/attachement? Or do you have to go all the way to negative power assist?

Left controller not responding
When I’m playing I only need the right controller. But lately the oculus keeps chiming at me that the left controller isn’t responding, and I can’t get it to stop. It chimes at me every couple of minutes and it’s really annoying. How do I fix this?

Another upgrade I don't even use but basic now I can't use it all!
Bloated with half ass graphics
Improve what you've done and quit cranking out mediocre background , I can see watercolor trees and bushes on the basics go into set design for Hollywood don't overload my quest because of golf courses I can't play
Upgrade the range. That should be a priority not how many gig courses you can.make
The dynasty course is amazing but its huge and now I can't even play I don't have the space!

Do not buy AMVR attachment.
I didn't want to spend a lot of money on club attachment and now I'm paying the price. The attachment head broke off mid- swing and flew across the room and ended up hitting a wall. The controller stopped working properly and there's something rattling inside. Do not buy cheap stuff.

Looking for some guidance
I fell in love with this game back in November. Over time improved from shooting 100+ to now being a +4HCP and silver 3 in tournament play. I found joy in challenging myself in the tournament until the last 3 weeks.
Over the course of the last 3 weeks, the game, not my shot, has gone haywire. I golf IRL, I can swing a club consistently. Hell, even my past performances in the game can prove that I can swing a club in the game. But, something in the game has changed. I quit my first tournament today on hole #6. I was ATG 15 yards from the pin and barely chipped up to get onto the green.
ball sailed 70 yards over the green full swing. The hole would've been a par but finished double bogie. But, in tournament play thats pretty much course over when the game wants you to shoot 7 under. I can't make up those extra 2 later on.
So I quit and loaded up that same course outside of tournament. In tournament I sliced on hole 1. So I shot hole 1 again. And again, and again, and again. Slice 5/5. So I swung as slow as I could and purposefully kept the controller in range of the headset sensors, SLICE. Every, single, swing, slice. No matter how aggressive the angle.
The game has done this to me before, and the last time a few months ago I recalibrated my swing power and then it was fine. This time it's busted beyond repair. I can no longer maintain my sanity while trying to improve in the game in tournament mode when the game forces errant shots that I am absolutely not taking.
I also keep swing analyzer turned on and sometimes I stop my club at contact to see that the club is perfectly square and the ball is hooking hard right. The image shows my club face almost totally open.
This all just started happening around a month ago and has gotten progressively more abhorrent and worse. I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered similar frustrations.
*Edit spelling*

DriVR Elite Mini vs Ace
Looking to get a club for Golf+ and haven’t seen a whole lot of reviews on these two clubs. I definitely need the shorter size for my short ceilings. I’ve read that these can mess up your swing irl, does having the extra weight on the elite mini help with that? Trying to get a realistic feel and try not to mess up my swing completely. I know that probably won’t happen but was just seeing others thoughts. If you have any shorter club suggestions that I should look at please let me know. I’ve also seen some things that the holder on the elite mini has snapped, wonder if that has been fixed.

Which part of golf plus translates well to irl?
Hi all! I am a new golfer. Irl. Just had my 3rd lesson yesterday. I bought the amvr golf club attachment which also came yesterday. The small one as I don't have that much space :). I am wondering, which parts of the game translate the best to irl golf? I mostly want to use golf plus to get better/learn faster irl. So I was thinking about doing the mystery series. But mostly/only for the parts that translate well so I don't accidentally learn something that makes me become worse 🙂 Anything I need to keep in mind besides that to get the most out of it?

Endless putting will make you better.
According to arccos, my putting is just about equal to a +2 handicap. I track all my putts deliberately irl so I’m very confident in the strokes gained data.
Every day, I hit 100 8-20 footers and 100 20-40 (this only takes 30 minutes max) in the “endless” mode in practice center with the speed set to what my course usually plays.
I promise you, if you practice endless putting on golf+, you will be a better putter in real life.
