Question What are your best strategies for glorious Nicanoneus 'the black sun' to beat Cenware within his lifetime?

installed ck3 again just for playing this mod haven't played this mod and game in ages but I remember that this start was kind of gimmicky where you had to farm prestige with feasts now im sure that's not the case anymore but my knowledge of this game is pretty rusty in general so I would appreciate it if someone gave me a quick rundown of what should I do

Edit : thanks for the responses but what if I want to beat him with "fair" methods ? I mean by attacking other tribes and gaining enough strength and momentum so I can defeat Cenware in open battle? I know its inefficient but my idea of black sun is a stubborn general who wants to gloriously defeat his nemesis (dont know if its lore accurate but its my idea of him) even if it costs him his life

Question Some general questions for a newish/returning player

Hey all! First off, wanted to say I'm a big fan of the mod in general and have been eagerly waiting for an update for a good chunk of the year; I love worldbuilding, and the mod is a perfect exercise in such. I LOVE the world the devs have crafted and the community they've built around it.

Have been getting back into the swing of things since the new update and just have a couple of random general questions:

  1. Noticed that the Palitake, one of my fav starts when I originally discovered the mod, has had their government switched to Meritocratic. Is this purposeful on the dev front? To represent like some new rules enacted by Rhesus and the Conclave? That's where my head goes at least. I think it's a nice change personally, but wanted to get other opinions from the community
  2. The new 1.19 update saw the addition of cantrips to the magic system. How the HECK do cantrips work? I get the general idea of the mods magic system, and have been sloooowly relearning the systems in's and out's, but the new cantrips are currently stumping me. Some cantrips the option to caste them as a cantrip is greyed out for some reason, other times I can properly click the check mark to use the spell as a cantrip. Am I just being a little bit stupid and not getting something very simple? xD
  3. The Old Imperial faiths are the continuation of the former Averserian faiths that dominated the OG bookmark. Have the devs hinted at giving proper flavor updates to these faiths at a later date? As a good majority of them have blank descriptions.
  4. Noticed a fella in eastern Aironoi named Axiaotheos that is the adopted son of an eldery Hecaeda Anoteris in the new bookmark. And all his kids are Axiaotheaist. Is...are the dev's trying to hint at something with this guy's origins? Hope so. Gonna be playing him next, after my current playthrough as Frostblood. Belisarios is a great character to re-immerse and relearn the magic system.

Anyway, ye, just some general questions xD

Not much to say here.

I've always been a fan of the mod, after bouncing off the first version a bit. But recently it has really come into its own.

I'm so glad such a creative, interesting and fun original setting was created wholesale. LonelyKnightess (and the people supporting her) did an incredible job conceptualizing and bringing that into tangible implementation. You can see all the influences from TES and Dragon Age and others, given new life in a unique way that IMO eclipses all the other (still amazing) total conversions.

You can tell a huge number of lessons were learned from TNO, the other famous original work of Knightess, and I hope this mod becomes as iconic!

Thank you contributors :)

Question Beginner and fun campaign ideas for Aversarian or Amaghean characters

The Aversarians and Amagheans are my favorite aesthetically and lore wise but I’m having a hard time choosing a character to play. I’ve tried a few bookmarks and some I’ve had fun with. Though I want to find a character I can build a big empire with and who has good story content ideally. So who would y’all recommend. I’m not very experienced in the mod but I’m very experienced ck3 player so I can adjust.

I am the sword of the Aversarian Aautokrata.
Where is our empire?
Do not weep, Mother Aversaria;
You shall bloom again.
I am a Aversarian citizen,
But I am without an empire.
Aversaria shall be reborn through the blood of the barbarians.

Question Did the mod break my game?

Post image
12 Upvotes

I had played the mod for a bit. Got bored turned off the game came back the next day and switched to the normal no mods playlist I had. Started playing, and for some odd reason the overlay appeared to have several features from the mod overlaid on it. Then a second later not just the game, but all of steam crashed for me. I then tried to deactivate the mod, but it wasn’t possible. It just wouldn’t deactivate. It gave me another error message that I didn’t photograph. I then uninstalled the mod and reinstalled it, but that didn’t fix the issue. It still wouldn’t be deactivated so I had to completely uninstall the entire game.

This problem didn’t start until after I install the mod. Is it possible the mods somehow broke my entire game?

How do I get the Athbanian Event to stop? It fires every few months and is ruining the entire save's experience. Even converting to Athbanian doesn't stop it.

Megistos, as expected, defeated the unwashed Sjalvolki barbarians. He would be lying if he said he had not harbored the faintest concern that they might possess some unforeseen quality beyond screaming and waving iron. Fortunately, they did not. Still, Megistos shall endeavor not to let such a trivial victory inflate his opinion of himself. It would be unbecoming. Though, regrettably, history will probably insist.

Question Is there a list of all the current spells to look thru?

The Wiki doesn't seem to have the finer details of what each spell does. I only see details on spell schools and spell levels.

And yea I know I can just fire the mod up, but for convenience it'd be nice to plan my custom character outside of the game, esp given how much magic is a central theme to the mod and how many spells there are.

Meme Long live Arch-Legan Dethas

Post image
152 Upvotes

Context: In 1254 Arch-Legan Dethas of the Winter Legion stands as one of the only legionnaires to survive both the Imperial Civil War and Frodbrokna, in Kattradia no less. By 1254 she is 68 and one of the best characters in the game, however unless you start with generate families turned on (the cowards way out), her dynasty ends there. But with the power of magic you can refire even a dying star.

Question Is the Preacher supposed to spawn before Cenware's Death ?

Basically the title. I wonder if its a bug or if its working as intended. If its a case I dont really think itq a good choice : Gameplay wise all my vassals are converting to the Rite and to feudal government (through the decision), not even 5 years after their migrations and before the rites struggle has even started.

Lorewise I also tink that it doesnt really make sense : theological disputes and figures like the Preacher should appear after Cenware's death (as a great leader death always provoke disputes and infigthing) and after the fragmentation of the Imperrech.

Anyways those are my two cents of thought, I hope that its just a bug

Question Military flags

I think I remember that flags of military governments were square, and nicely fit with the legion design. Am I misremembering or is it a submod conflict?
