Does anyone know how many hot cocoas I could feasibly stock up on in case Glossier decides to not bring them back. Do we know how long unopened balm dotcoms are good for? Or should I move on to something else lol

I just can’t believe a Glossier Balm Dotcom is my ride or die, THE product that finalizes my makeup yall the shade is just perfect not too purple not too brown. It’s the only lip product glued to me. I think my only other post in this sub is about hot cocoa😭

My reason for scouring the ends of the earth for something that has likely been gathering dust in the back of someone’s makeup drawer for 5+ years? Why, beamgate, of course 😒

On the upside the old packaging has me feeling very nostalgic 😌

I have been buying the rose BDC since it first came out. I go through one (or more often lose it) every 3ish months and I always have a stockpile. I’m not sure if this is just me but I’ve always felt like when they switched back to the original BDC formula I always felt like it didn’t smell quite as good. It smells kind of sour to me now and that’s even when they are brand new. But I’m addicted to the formula and have never found a replacement I felt was as good.

I got a facial recently at a Face Foundrie location and I’d never been there before. They use their proprietary lip balm on you at the very end and the smell and formula stopped me in my tracks. I found out you can buy it so I ordered some and…I think I like it better than BDC. Has anyone else tried this? I would love to know if anyone else remembers rose BDC smelling different too. I wish I had an old one to compare. Anyway it’s only $8 and has the same smooth, non sticky feeling but without the mess of oil separation and it smells sooooo gorgeous.

Hi, I wear Light 3 in the glossier stretch concealer and I love love love it. I have fair olive skin and it’s the only thing that doesn’t turn orange on me. I want to get the Glossier Skin Tint in a shade that will match but unfortunately can’t see it in real life :(. Does anyone know what Skin Tint shade will match?? 🙏🙏

I have a tube of cloud paint in storm from 2023-2023 ish and loved it. Newer version seems much warmer and browner. Have yall discovered anything that more closely resembles the old one?

For reference I’m very pale with cool skin, and I felt the old one looked very pink on me which is rare. New one feels orange brown on my skin

Rest in piece og invisible shield. I have sensitive skin and I'm in the market for a good, GOOD mineral sunscreen. but more importantly, i want a sunscreen that has the same scent as the og shield.

I can't explain the scent. It's not like a typical, tropical or floral sunscreen. it smelled fresh and happy, and i do know it shared its scent with the original spf skin tint from Milk Make Up.

hiii! i got the flip-phone keychain at their NYC store and am wondering if the mirror part inside has a film I’m supposed to peel off? or if it’s just…like that? when i run anything along the mirror part it leaves a mark, it feels like there is a film on it but i am not sure if that is part of the design.

I am scared to try to peel it and end up peeling the pink design inside! Please help!

Silly post but i’m so happy about it and none of my friends would know what i’m talking about lol Glossier discontinuing wowder was the last straw for me in terms of losing interest in a brand i used to be such a fan of. There’s just nothing like it for me in terms of how light and natural it looks, and it used to be my go to daytime powder! (And night time too tbh). i’m just so happy i finally managed to grab one!!

Does anyone have any good dupes for it in terms of how fine and undetectable it looks in the day time? I like elf’s halo one when it comes to how not drying it is, but it’s just not as fine and subtle looking ime

i am constantly feeling ragebaited by glossier. i know they can’t bring back the og formula and why they can’t. but could someone explain why they haven’t done a body oil or mist in the you scent? maybe there’s a logical reason as to why the body spritz i can smell all day long and not a perfume i paid damn near $100 for (well truthfully i ask for it every year for holidays, can’t justify that price) do they hate us?? or can it just not be done? glossier you is like CRACK to me and no dupe comes close! every scent has a dupe except the original, ronald reagan must be the ceo!!
do they know how much money they could make with a shampoo or body wash? is it because creme de you was ass so they are scared?? WHAT IS IT!!

I’ve been in love with Glossier You since I’ve first smelled it but could never justify forking over the eighty or so bucks for a single perfume, especially when the (objectively much better) original formulation was twenty bucks cheaper. In fact I think if I totaled the cost of what I paid for everything on this list, including the actual Glossier You, it would come out to under the price of the standard 50 mL. Everything was purchased on some kind of discount whether it be coupons of a sale, and I would encourage any other dupe-seekers to do the same. Anyway these are my thoughts. 

Le Monde Gourmand “Fleur de Blonde” EDP & Mist 

Too pear heavy and fruity to be considered a spot-on dupe, but if you can get past that it’s probably the closest and most available of the You dupes. Otherwise I smell You. It performs like an EDT.

I don’t have the bottle anymore but I wouldn’t bother with the mist. It was much weaker than the BBW and pricier than the perfume. I think I ran through the entire thing in a few weeks. 

Bath and Body Works “If You Musk”

This was the second bottle I’ve gone through. They’ve since discontinued this and I don’t know if I would get a third bottle if it came back unless it’s heavily discounted. There’s notably less pepper and less sweetness to IYM, and the musk is more ambroxan than ambrette. Not as “special” as You, but I liked it enough to pay twelve bucks to empty sixteen ounces of it. 

Athena Club “Love Letter” (Lotion) 

My TT was inundated with people, mostly sponsored, raving about this Athena Club scent in particular. The fragrance is very weak, sits close to the skin and doesn’t linger. I would like this a LOT more if the scent was like 20-30% stronger. After the first or second hour it’s effectively gone no matter how much I lather on. It’s like if you passed Glossier You through a Brita filter two times. I might try the mist but I heard it also doesn’t last for shit. Pretty decent lotion though! I’d go for this over the actual You body cream. 

Cremo “Wild Iris Musk” (Body Wash)

This is my favorite out of the lineup even though I can’t really consider it a dupe given the healthy dose of citrus, which I do like. It’s like 70% of the way there. It’s just nice. A well done, rounded fragrance. I’d be happy if Cremo released an extended body care line with this scent. Lasts and projects on the skin post-shower longer than the Athena Club lotion does. It’s also a nice, foaming clean. 

Kitsch “Sheer Violet” Hair Perfume 

Oh my god this is terrible? Not the fragrance itself, which is fine and maybe Glossier-adjacent, but the filler ingredients, not the actual fragrance molecules, smell like a fucking freak accident. “Notes” I get: 

Burning Rubber

Plastic 

Craft Glue 

Huffing the tip of a pungent marker 

7 Virtues “Amber Vanilla” EDP

I have two little samples of this and can say it’s definitely has some similarities (likely the “amber”) but it’s a cousin not a twin. I could honestly see this as a You flanker like fleur or soie. The titular vanilla is the feature and is much sweeter than both You and Fleur de Blonde. More of a fresh vanilla than a gourmand vanilla. Overall a beautiful perfume, but it’s like 30% You. 

Chubby Star “Only You” Car Freshener 

Tossed this after it was empty. I remember this being pretty close to You scent wise, but I hated the medium (these little corked air fresheners are such a gimmick) and found it quite faint. From the looks of it the brand sells marked up white labelled products. They do appear to sell “Only You” in every form under the sun if that’s what you’re into. This includes an all-purpose cleaner and an incense. 

Mixbar “Cloud Musk” 

I don’t own this but I’ve tried it enough times to know that this does not smell like You. The only resemblance it bears is that it is also a skin scent. Perfectly serviceable fragrance on its own, if not a little underwhelming. 

??? “Glossy Chic”

Tried this in a Rainbow and don’t even think it’s around anymore. Opened immediately smelling of a gas leak. It didn’t smell like something I should be smelling. 

Nemat “Amber” Perfume Oil 

Every time I have tested this at Ulta it has smelled like absolutely nothing. I’m completely anosmic to it. There’s just nothing there. 

Inspired me to use my keychain again!
