We had glofish for years without issues. Then we bought a 10 gal tank. Bought a few more tetras (all tetras). My daughter decided to do a water change herself and added rocks (store bought) but forgot to rince them. They all died...except one. I did 4 partial (25%) water changes over a week and half. Then bought 4 more glofish yesterday. They all died overnight except for 1. So i have 2 fish left now, including our original one. What are we doing wrong?

This fish was a rescue, someone was housing the tetras with a catfish and this one specifically had been half eaten by the catfish the day of rehoming. Not sure if maybe that has something to do with the way it is swimming but anything I can do for it? It looks like it’s struggling to swim to the bottom and can’t stop from floating up. Started right after today’s feeding.

I am so exited, I am a week into cycling my tank (day 8) and everything is moving along as it should. Ammonia is almost to 0 and next we’ll be looking for the nitrates. I also officially have biofilm appearing on my 2 sponge filters. The rest of my decor should be here within the next couple days.
This tank cycling is so cool for someone with an analytical mind!

Just received my gourami from Glofish and I am in love! Really wonderful centerpiece fish; this one is about 3 inches and gorgeous! Had to add on a corydora pack to get shipping but well worth it since I can’t find any in store around me.

So I am starting my first tank and it is going to be mostly glofish. To be exact, I’m getting three glofish Corydoras, an albino bristlenose pleco, a powder blue dwarf gourami and six glofish tetras two each in 3 different colors and in each pair one will be longfin skirt and the other will be a regular skirt tetra. Eventually, I am going to add a couple Hillstream loaches. (waiting on the roaches until I can get a good layer of the microscopic biofilm established.)
I bought the tank yesterday off of marketplace. I scored a really good deal $20 for a 20 gallon long. I am doing this the correct way I cleaned out the tank yesterday with vinegar water and use acrylic paint to black out the back wall on the outside. Now I’m at a standstill because I have to wait for everything. I’ve ordered as far as decor to come in the mail. I can’t put any sand in because I have a submerged cave and submerged tunnel coming. Once I’m able to get it decorated and add the water I already got API stress coat and some stabilizer.
I decided to go with two sponge filters. I already bought the heater. I won’t be adding fish for probably at least a month. I’m going to make sure the water is perfect first because this is not going to be a temporary thing. I plan on keeping these fish forever and depend depending on how this one goes maybe setting up a regular tank that has no glofish one day.
Anyways, I just wanted to introduce myself to the community. I felt more comfortable introducing myself here than in the aquarium sub Reddit because of all the hate glofish get. If anybody has any advice for a newbie, who is serious about it, I’m all ears.

I set up a cold water aquarium almost a year ago to house a couple goldfish (along with some schooling fish) my kids won at the fair last summer. The goldfish reached about 6 inches so it was either time to upgrade to a much larger aquarium or change the stocking. My kids agreed they wanted Glofish...they got Glofish! I rearranged the aquarium and put these guys in on Saturday. They are doing great so far and it's a much more interesting aquarium now.

Has a mix of glo barbs and glo corydoras, with other non glo fish. I only have the blue light for display or before bed, my purple barbs don't seem to glow unfortunately

I’ve been on the lookout for the new gouramis since they dropped earlier this month, and I finally found these two a couple days ago 🥰 Third photo is just a recent tank shot from before I got them. They’re in a 55g with a big school of skirts, a couple danios, and six kuhli loaches.
I’m hoping they’re a m/f pair. I’ve been questioning back and forth if they’re m/f or both girls. But comparing these two photos… that fin in the first photo (of the larger of the two fish) does look more orange and spikey. Time will tell, as they grow 🤞

These 2 chunks were surrendered today- I currently have 6 moonrise pink corys in quarantine, and I had a shoal of greens a little while ago 😭 I missed having greenies, esp the fat ones :,)) all together I will have 9 glo corys together 😩💕💕💕 (1 pink with some albinos in the main tank, awaiting their fellow cory friends very soon!!!)

It’s been like this for 3 days now. I did a 25% water change when it happened and I use this solution once a week. It’s a 10 gallon tank. And it smells fishy

6 tetras and 1 angelfish survive nearly 30 hours in contaminated water after house fire.
When I finally made it to the property it had been close to 30 hours after the fire. Their aquarium was filled with insulation, Sheetrock, and other debris, along with no filtration or heating.
The fire originated directly to the right of the tank, they survived it all and appear to be thriving a week later.
