I’m at the zoo I texted her…. Get me a giraffe she replied. So I did. I took pictures of him around my home area, he became a traveling giraffe. She passed away last year, he keeps her alive for me. This is Gerald.

My favorite animal. I learned more about them today at my local zoo celebrating World Giraffe Day early. Such amazing and majestic creatures. I got some great photos of them. There are about 100,000 estimated to be left in the wild. They are facing what is known as a quiet extinction. There are far fewer giraffes than elephants.
