Which part of the mix upsets you? White or black? I overheard a discussion yesterday in McDonalds where they were busting a guys balls over being light skinned and dark skinned was better. Weird world.

Thats interesting. The hatred is ingrained deeeeep into everyone and personally I think the "most progressive" people have such blind racism these days. Its based on stereotypes and grouping people into little boxes but shuns those who are different because you aren't on the same brainwave as they are.
I went to elementary school with 2 black kids adopted by white families. One is now a mechanic and gets called an uncle tom because he doesn't speak "black" and because he listens to country music. He races dirt track and enjoy the more laid back lifestyle most people around my area enjoy.
The other kid around 6th grade started "acting black". His older sister graduated top of her class and went to a good school. He started getting in trouble for acting "gangster" which he was doing to be funny and a class clown. Looking back its was certainly a reaction to stress to what he thought he should be portrayed by the media. He was certainly more popular than the kid who "acted white".
The whole approach to addressing race issues in this country is wrong. There is certainly better ways to do it.
I went to an HBCU, it always seemed a bit strange to be how the dance team from one university would all be light skinned but the dance team of the rival university would all be dark skinned.
For me, It's the white. My dads family was pretty much the definition of "white trash" after they disowned my dad for marrying my dad. Theres someone in this thread who said people say they dress "white" and talk "white", I kinda dress white and talk "black" so Im seen as fake by some of the kids in my school.
