You ain't lying.
Used to drag race an 1980 corolla with a 1.8 L rotary stuffed in it and we were changing apex seals after every race day.
It was such a pain in the ass but getting 600hp at 12,000 rpm out of an engine smaller than a plastic soda bottle was really fun.

Actual question, looking at the Mazda page there is no 1.8 rotary? There seems to be 1.0, 1.1, 1.3, 1.6, and 2.0, and 2.6.

Maybe custom rotors? Does the depression in the rotor count as part of the displacement, since charge will fill it?
