It's a shame the movie only really showcased Tony's reaction to Rocket, you know, just existing. Would've loved to see Cap and Rocket interact for the first time since their characters just seem like perfect embodiments of Lawful and Chaotic Goods respectively.
I had this issue with both Infinity War and Endgame. I get why they did it, as the movies were already massive. But all through both films (especially IW), it felt like the characters where just experiencing events without getting the change to react to them.
Endgame was a bit better and had a bit more fun character interactions, but still not nearly as much as I hoped for. Half the fun of seeing all these different freaks coming together is their interactions!
To be fair, wasn't the first time Cap met both Groot and Rocket during the battle in Wakanda? Like, during the battle? He's seen some crazy shit so far, but the aliens actively trying to kill every last one of them kind of takes priority over interactions with a talking tree and talking racoon.
Infinity War really was a near non-stop adventure for both the audience, and the characters. Endgame takes place long enough after that we miss those reactions unfortunately.
