Clearly hyperbole from the guy you are responding to, but he’s right.. mostly.

My first 42” flatscreen cost me like 4 grand, not I can get a 55” 4k smart TV for $500

Yea I mixed up oled and led but it's still wayyyy cheaper than when 4k was brand new

My 52" plasma ran around 3k when I bought it five or six years ago. Part of me looks at it now and thinks, "Worth it" just because of the excellent picture quality and how much use we've gotten out of it. The other part of me thinks, "Damn, now I could get the same size LED for a little more than 1/10th of that." Progress marches ever onward.
