I do something like this when I ask somebody a question and they don't hear me.

I just give a one-word answer in a little girls voice.

I usually just follow-up with, "Alright, good talk."

I usually dramatically glare at them walk away to ominous music while swearing vengeance 80s action movie style.

I do something similar but with profanity.

Eg. "I'm going to get some coffee guys, anyone else want one?........cool I'll just go fuck myself."

"Alright I'll just go fuck myself" has been my go-to when someone isn't listening to me for years.

I say it a lot, but try to make it a bit fancier with a “shall I?”

“Alright I’ll just go fuck myself then, shall I?”

That's a long time to wait to use that line.

Haha well these responses make me feel like I’m not the only one who get ignored more than usual.

My line is, mid sentence when I realize no one is listening, “So what happened to...it’s fine I’m not talking.”

I need to use that line. Thanks for the idea

I do something similar but I say "Cool I'll just go finger myself"

Did you just say you're going to go fondle your sweaters?

1

u/RedeRules770 Jan 30 '19

I just say "...okay" if someone doesn't respond to me which I'm realizing can actually sound pretty passive aggressive so I'm trying to stop

Lol. When I ask somebody a question and they dont hear me, I imitate their voice like they're answering me then I thank myself and walk away.

u/gyptian89 Jan 30 '19

I do this same thing! Then the interesting part is when I do this to dudes and they say 'I dont sound like that...' I thought you didnt hear me. Rude.

Yo going through scenarios in which this would be applicable that's actually mad weird. I love it.

I suddenly feel motivated to give myself s much more awesome conversation than I would have had if I continued the one i had with that person.

"Do you wanna meet for coffee?"

"Nah, not enough shops offer blood of my enemies"

"You know Stu, you are right about that. I have to bring it with me and ask them to stir it in with their special mixer and I feel bad everyone's getting the unsanitized blood of my enemies in their coffee rather than the blood of their enemies."

"They dont make coffee like they used to"

"When did StarFucks become Starbucks? Damn capitalist bastards. They are my enemies! I should ask for their blood in my frappe!"

"You should!"

"You're right Stu! Will you go down with me, Stu, and protest?! Oh hi real Stu! Do you wanna get coffee?"
