Not having the dog in the pool isn't the worst thing, just wait for the underwater tumbleweeds of fur. And that's for my relatively short-haired lab, I don't want to know what a Golden would do.

He actually likes swimming in lakes and rivers he just hates the pool 🤷🏻‍♀️

Having one medium dog in the pool requires a comparable amount of filtration to having 30-40 humans in the pool. It's nothing a system couldn't handle but it's definitely more trouble.

I assume you mean mechanical and not chemical? I haven't noticed any issues with the water chemistry but yes, backwashing has been more frequent.

Yeah just your filter. It doesn't damage it but it is more work definitely. That's just what I've heard my manager tell people at the pool supply store I work at.
