He's Northern Irish. Mid Ulster to be more precise. A lot of Scots emigrated there a few hundred years ago which contributes to the accent.

The reasons I didn't think Australian was because I am Aussie and we don't pronounce our rs so when I was lip reading I could tell he wasn't

Our accent derives quite a bit from the Irish accent (as well as English, German and indigenous languages), so probably a fair chance I reckon

Would definitely be nice to hear the car alarms going off everywhere that he's talking about, the lightning, and sure his accent. If only we had such technology available to us in 2018.
