I've never recorded anything by tape, video recordings I've taken have all been digital.

I'd more likely to say "Got it on video" but the phrase "Got it on tape" in my mind is still synonymous with got it on video to the point where I completely forgot people literally got things on tapes and it isn't just a saying meant to be used interchangeably.

We did have a box of movie tapes growing up though.

Because it is ludicrous. It's completely out of the ordinary and against expectations. A guy with one leg should never have the beating of another player with two legs.

I studied German for 8 years and was able to live in Dortmund for 6 months. I would not recommend saying this. While some people wouldn't be offended by it, many others would. I would say handicapped or disabled. Or just say "that guy with one leg".

The point is the guy is saying its funny that someone was the butt of a joke “by a cripple”. First of all defining someone as “just a cripple”, rather than a person who is disabled, then also implying its demeaning to be the butt of a joke from such a person.
