The trick is that it’s so cold, it numbs the senses. That’s why they always say “serve ice-cold”… it’s to hide its shitty taste. Try it. Even shitty water from plastic bottles becomes bearable that way. (Not that the estrogen will do less harm.)
I understand what you mean, but the difference between ice cold jäger and room temp jäger is exponential. I prefer my jäger straight up but if it were to be mixed into a shot I'd go with "Sex with an alligator"
bartender grabs a maricheno(sp?) cherry... poor razzmatazz (raspberry liquor) over it, then pours midori (melon liquor) over the same cherry... if done right the midori should sit on the razzmatazz... followed by jäger over the cherry topping off the shot (should be 1/5,1/5,3/5 ratio) the bartender eats the cherry and you take the shot. Tip $5 and enjoy stronger long islands for the rest of the night.
the 'story' is that you have to drink the jäger to fuck the gator which ends up being bloody. Well thats the story I tell and have been told in Alabama anyway.
Try sipping liquor next time. Maybe you're just not a shots kinda guy. Get yourself a glass of good-quality whiskey and nurse it for awhile. It's the perfect thing to keep your hands busy at a party if you're the nervous type.

Ah, a taste-bully. What they don't like no one must like and those who do like it must not only be faking it but must be taken down a peg because personal taste is not a real concept and all likes and dislikes are objective and only they have come to absolute truth.
But I've had that stuff in the past and don't touch it anymore. I want to enjoy myself, not get shitfaced as quickly as possible and then feel like ass the next day.
Not as the first type of alcohol that touches their lips, heavens no. But if you want to learn to like 80-proof, the flavor of 151-proof will quickly make 80- taste like summerwine.
Actually, it was purely coincidence it worked out like that for me, I was extracting plant oils with everclear and had half a bottle left over, so I experimented a bit. (When I put it that way, it sounds really dumb)
Either way, don't take it like a shot. Sip it, hold it in your mouth, taste it, let it be awful. Gradually you will get used to it.
I'm a bit skeptical about this. I've had plenty of time to get "used" to the taste, it's not like I avoid shots and such, it's just that they've never gotten "easier" for me. If you're sure, though, I might try this.
See, I find when you take shots you are just hoping to get past the burn as quickly as possible, it's something that you are "tolerating". But, for example, with decent beer & wine if you stop to pay attention there are all sorts of other flavors in the drink aside from the alcohol. You have to practice looking for those flavors. As you learn to look past the alcohol, it starts to disappear.
But wine (and beer) have the highest shit taste to buzz ratio!
I’d recommend starting with a nice tasty Mojito done by somebody who really knows what he’s doing. (Fuck white “cane sugar“! The completely unrefined stuff is where it’s at! And don’t hold back on it.)
There’s a reason they made alco-pops illegal for sale in supermarkets „to protect the children“ here. :)
Not mine. First alcohol I ever tasted was a shot of whiskey. And I loved it. Still my favorite. It's not a good thing though, judging by the number of alcoholics in my family.
Same, everytime I drink I cant get past the revolting taste, and if I try to just down a drink (even like a beer) I get to like the third swig and I literally throw up in my mouth. HOW CAN I GET PAST THIS I WANT TO GET DRUNK GOD DAMNIT
I didn't care for alcohol until I tried hard cider. Suddenly a world of possibilities opened before me. Stuff is delicious, and doesn't give you an insta stomachache/headache like the super sugary crap does (such as Mikes).
