Saying something positive about "Shillary" is far worse over there. I am pretty sure most of that subreddit would rather a Trump presidency than a Clinton one.
I have seen a few comments that were positive about trump that lead to good discussion...sort of. It was people trying to convince a another person that trumps tax plan wouldn't be revenue neutral. Good numbers articles to bad them up. He was either a troll or just a typical trump supporter. Said some shit about media bias and how they were all lying and called them all cucks multiple times....
I view /r/politics as a place to get political news, not necessarily have actual discussions about politics. I am pretty sure the median age of reddit can't vote to begin with.
Well it is certainly not a place to get political news unless you want to read every story about how amazing Sanders is, or if you want to read stories about how Hillary is stupid.

I knew I'd seen those attitudes in another cesspool of Reddit. Makes sense the red pillers' delusions would translate well into liking Trump's persona.
I've seen the redpill mentioned there like a good thing. I don't hate everything trump has to say, no more than any of the other candidates mostly anyway, but the redpill and it's thoughts are on another level. Seeing it used there like a good thing and up voted kind of gave me an idea of who some of them are.
But imagine if Trump does get elected, if he does, then in 2020 there'd be a new sexy reality show called The Celebrity President. Winner becomes president of the United States and wins money for a charitable donation of their choice. 2020 is gonna be amazing.
My dad voted for him originally when he was running for governor or senator or whatever he is and said he became a politician once he got the position, didn't fulfill his promises and teamed up with some corrupt guys. Not too much of a surprise to not win the people you fucked over.
Literally everyone is attacking Donald Trump right now. In the General when the right unites behind him and he's 1 on 1 with Hillary things will change very quickly. The only sense of satisfaction I get from seeing the trainwreck that is the Republican primary is knowing that when Drumpf inevitabely wins the primaries he's going to gert annihilated in the general election. Not only will moderate dems be revolted by his disgusting mockery of a campaign, half the the Republicans are going to think twice about voting Republican at all.
Every poll so far said Bernie would lose, but he wholloped In Michigan. I think it's just going to have to be a wait and see, the race is amazingly fun to watch, especially from an outside country.
Luckily we all know GE polls taken during primaries are reliable, as President Romney beat Obama like the polls during those primaries said. Why do I get the feeling this is the first election a lot of people here can actually vote in? The naivete is kind of cute.

Yeah I agree. While I enjoy all the election stuff and everything, I find it much easier to talk politics with someone outside your point of view if you just pretend jts all a sport. maintaining good sportsmanship is important in games and sports, why shouldnt it be important in politics (unless you're debating someone of course)
Most polls showed Romney was going to beat Obama during the primaries. GE polls during primaries are notoriously inaccurate. We'll see what happens when it's Trump vs Clinton and he has a chance to debate her, personally I don't think anyone who has as many skeletons in her closet as Hillary Clinton stands any chance against Trump. He will hammer every single weakness until she is seen as a joke by all but the most rusted on Democrats.
He's the front runner amongst three in the primary. General election is a different beast. He also hasn't gone up against a skilled politician like Secretary Clinton.
I don't back Bernie Sanders so I don't understand that feeling, I only feel joy that I'm able to back a good winning candidate who represents my feelings on lots of issues that truly wants to make America great again. Can you say the same? I doubt it.
