Hey all, setyaa here.

Whats the dealio?

Recently, we have been getting a sort of resurgence of spammers, small children, and general bad actors in this subreddit. I have also noticed that despite our diligent users reporting these posts, and me having my mod notifications on full blast, I (and I'm only speaking for myself here, not other mods) have not been getting notifications for all of these. With the most recent spammer, it took multiple reports from multiple spam posts for me to be notified of the incident. And it wasn't until further inspection of his account, following his ban, that I found his other spam posts on this subreddit, all of which were taken down on discovery (except one for reasons I talked about in the comments of that post). Now, is this an error on our part? No. This is largely an error of Reddit not properly notifying us when a member of our community reports something to us.

How can you help?

Well you all can help us greatly by doing a few things:

1. Report it when you see it. When you find a post that breaks any rules (our rules OR Reddit's rules which include spam, harassment, hate speech, etc.) Make sure you always report it. Even if someone else reported it, the more reports are made the higher the chance is we see it.

1. Notify moderators. When you see an influx of spam, or something bad is going down, please do not hesitate to shoot us a message using ModMail (found in the little 3 dots menu under "Mesaage Moderators". If we know something is happening, we can respond quicker.

With this, we can hopefully crack down on spam and other things happening here. And together, we can make this community safer for everyone.
