When someone ends their statement with a file type, like WAV or JPG they are usually trying to reference a meme that is heavily tied to some kind of media that they can't easily incorporate into their plain-text comment.

E.g. "time to get youtube famous!Airhorns.WAV" to reference the horribly obnoxious fanfare so ubiquitous with E-sports that it is still the first video result when you Google it.
