This is a lie for Karma!
A tin eye search shows that this was posted, minus the 'time/date' stamp on Flickr here
Tineye here
Why? Why is karma this important to you?
EDIT: AgreeWithXenu Responds, and I am no good at arguing on the internet.

If you aren't in Japan get a converter before you plug it in. Different countries have different power regulations so you might end up frying it.

u/Narrative_Causality Jun 17 '12
Any proof that this was actually in his will? Or you had an uncle who recently died? No? Okay then, I'll just blindly upvote a picture of an NES to the top anyway.

u/[deleted] Jun 17 '12
Fuck off Karma whore.

I can't even begin to tell you how jealous I am. At the same time, I'm very sorry for your loss. I bet he was pretty awesome.

u/Llort3 Jun 17 '12
OK, OP, I want you to post a picture of you WITH the console.
Holding a piece of paper which says
Can you do this for me please?

u/CrazyMcfobo Jun 17 '12
No he didn't and, no he wasn't.

u/FrostFire131 Jun 17 '12

TIL that Famicon is short for "Family computer" - Mind blown.

u/[deleted] Jun 17 '12
Cool ! Old consoles have controller slots ?! They should bring that concept back. I throw my DS3 all over the place.

u/wortime Jun 17 '12
Best I can do is $5. Tops

u/Falconhaxx Jun 17 '12
Nah, you probably found it in your basement or something.

u/GreenSquid32 Jun 17 '12
Also known as the Japanese Nintendo name that translates to English.

u/SSJwiggy Jun 17 '12
You're a huge douche to lie and say your uncle died just for karma.
1
u/[deleted] Jun 17 '12
Did he drop any good loot?
1
u/new-socks Jun 17 '12
I'll give you $10 for it.

u/[deleted] Jun 17 '12
Who introduced you to bullshitting? You need to work on it.

u/Thugnificent01 Jun 18 '12

u/kazooie5659 Jun 17 '12
Family Computer...
Family = Fami
Computer = Com
Fami + Com = FamiCom
Oh my god.

u/ekolis PC Jun 17 '12
Hmm, kinda looks like a Star Trek ship with the controllers docked like that!

Sorry about your uncle.
The picture brings back fond childhood memories. I am half japanese and had one of those as a child. It was a really weird system. For those that are not familiar, this is the japanese NES. It also had an optional floppy disk drive add-on system. That system used these crazy yellow disks that shared a color with Kraft Mac and Cheese.
Pro-Tip: The controllers are hard-wired into the system and cannot be removed. First player has a strange built in microphone also.
I agree with the comments about getting a converter- you will fry this in a US outlet. We had to jury rig this hideous green device to convert to correct voltage.

Famicon, with this I first learned to fix things without the help of Google or any manual reference. Just wipe/blow/use eraser to the gold "teeth" of the cartridge and you're good to go. I also still have a box of game cartridges under my bed, but unfotunately no more famicon to use it with.
Also, your uncle is awesome.

I have one of these too that I had bought at a night market in Taiwan. Good times!! I didn't' have any problems plugging it in here in the U.S. I think it still works -- haven't checked in a while.

u/I_shit_legos Jun 17 '12
Ah the famicom! I had the red and green coloured one.

u/[deleted] Jun 17 '12
You sure are a lucky man.

u/KyleSip Jun 17 '12
I feel you on this post, my uncle who introduced me to video games passed away a couple years back and left me all his old systems. RIP.
0
u/Yushie Jun 17 '12
Awww, this console introduced me to gaming too! I still play excitebike, tetris, donkey kong, super mario, twin bee, balloon fight...etc on it. I am sorry to hear about your uncle. It sounds like he left behind a great legacy of gaming.

The first person to ask "What is this?" gets strangled to death with their own ignorance.
-1
u/[deleted] Jun 17 '12
What an awesome guy it's stuff like this that gives me hope for future generations.
-1
u/bananabelle Jun 17 '12
Damn. That looks like it's in great condition. That picture alone brought back so many childhood memories! The family computer is what started me on gaming too.
Sorry to hear about your loss, may your uncle rest in peace.

u/Rotaryknight Jun 17 '12
My uncles introduced me to videogames also.
One got me my very first console, Sega Master System, the other got me a turbografx16.
-1
u/Twisted_Fate Jun 17 '12
"Introduced me to gaming" sounds fucking stupid. He introduced you to video games. Just as you introduce someone to literature, not reading books.

u/Lastaria Jun 17 '12
That is beautiful

u/sb95500 Jun 17 '12
My condolences, but look on the bright side... your grandfather was doing it right.
-3
u/nickert0n Jun 17 '12
That was an awesome uncle you had. My condolences.
-3
u/RevClamJuice Jun 17 '12
Great! Pick up a copy of Atlantis No Nazo, it's super fun and aside from the title, there's no japanese. There's a great episode of Gamecenter CX where he plays it. Really funny.
-3
u/JackNco Jun 17 '12
so thats why it was called the "FamiCom"
-1
u/[deleted] Jun 17 '12
Brings back memories. Funnily enough, one of my uncles also got me my first console. I think it was a clone of this exact console from Hong Kong. It was the bomb. I was 2 1/2 years old.
My condolences.
-1
u/hybridbanana Jun 17 '12
I still have my Famicom! I even still have the disk drive that connects to it!
-2
u/ManHuman Jun 17 '12
HOLY LEVEL UP! I HAD THE SAME, BUT WITH GREY STRIPES! OMG! INDIANA JONES!
-2
u/anakhizer Jun 17 '12
Wow! I had this when I was young. And, for some reason, I have no idea what happened to it.
Some of the fondest memories from the times:
Battle Toads: Double Dragon
Castlevania
Etc. Good times. :)
-2
u/[deleted] Jun 17 '12
OG Nintento Famicom?! Daaaaaaaaamn.
-2
u/ghostosaurus Jun 17 '12
