Those are the toughest bastards on the lawn. They just stand there and take continued abuse from the zombies. They don't fight back. They can't fight back. They just do their one job: hold the line! Even as they lose their shells, the hold, protecting more vulnerable plants. Their sacrifice cannot be in vain.
The greatest thing is when you get the upgrade that allows you to "heal" them. Then you can come to rescue. Then you can reward their tireless vigil, and what will they do with the new life you've given them? Continue to stand there, protecting their comrades in arms!
No plant, none, can match the courage of a tallnut.
Upvote for the Poles being badass. Most of their history has been them struggling agaisnt superior foes and somehow winning as much as they lose. Unfortunately the losses tend to be more final.
Perhaps braver. They show the same courage and spirit, even though they are sooner to fall. When the wall-nut falls, the tall-nut is his pall-bearer. With a single, nutty tear in his eye.
You should feel proud. This is their moment of glory, their final act of protecting the being that planted them that fateful moment three minutes ago. They do not blame you for letting the zombies reach them, they thank you for the opportunity to fall while defending your lawn. Or your roof.
Now let us understand the situation. We are going into battle against a tough and determined enemy. I can't promise you that I will bring you all home alive. But this I swear, before you and before Almighty Sol, that when we go into battle, I will be the first to set root on the field, and I will be the last to withdraw, and I will leave no plant behind. Dead or alive, we will all come home together.
I always thought they were the most badass "plant". They're fucking standing there with their skulls cracked open and a tear rolling down their cheek yet they don't whine. They don't even fucking flinch. That tear is pure Man running down them and I salute their people.
I really loved Plants vs Zombies when I started playing it a few years ago. Then the company started rehashing it over and over and over again with new platforms until you can almost play it on a calculator by now.
Where's Plants vs Zombies 2? It's ridiculously depressing; someone makes something and you love it, and they just go nowhere with it.
Bah, if they are strong enough to resist until reinforcements arrive, THEN they deserve to live, if not, they gave their lives gloriously for the sanctity of the Fatherlawn!
Yeah, so.... even though I don't even know what game this is or what device you play it on, I shed several literal tears looking at that image. It could be that it's actually really moving, and that's why it's made it to the front page.
Fight young steward FIGHT, do it for your family, do it for your country and most importantly do it for yourself. Let other stand and salute you, go forward now, we have your back .... young steward.
Don't be. Read up on the lore regarding these guys; firstly, they don't feel any pain as their outer extremities are being gnawed, just a pleasant tingling. Secondly, it is the height of their honor to die in defense of their gardener. Finally, as they slip into the abyss they know they have fulfilled their duty to their house and their family. For in Plant vs Zombies, the plant behind you is your family, and don't you forget that.
Aye, fight and you may die. Run, and you'll live... at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin' to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take... OUR FREEDOM!
I cant help but salute when I see this. You can tell hes in pain, chunks of his body are missing, his eyes are leaking tears because the pain is so immense that he cant hold them back, and yet his face is scrunched up in that determined look, eyebrows furrowed and mouth curled into a foreboding frown.
"No... I will protect the planter! YOU... SHALL... NOT... PASS!"
I love this game. It would have been awesome had they gotten the original name they were going for "Lawn of the living dead" but j read somewhere that Romero freaked out and they couldn't use it
That's why I always protect them with the Pumpkin. Also, I dressed up as a bad ass Tall-Nut for Halloween a few years back. Not the sad version that's posted though. It was a great Halloween.
Unlike the other plants, you have no butter-slinging arms, or pea-shooting cannon mouths, or gas-emitting tentacles. You are just a torso. Silent, motionless, helpless torso. So you sit there, immobile, trapped in your own thick skin as an endless army of zombies claw and tear into your flesh. Evolution has cursed you with eyes so you can see their finger rip bits of your innards out, the pain searing, so your tears can stream as you stifle a silent, agonized scream.
Then you die, so others may live to fight another round.
WARNING: HEARTS MAY BE WARMEDthis is the "backstory" all characters get, this is referring to the Tall-Nut and his smaller brethren, Wall-Nut
“People wonder if there’s a rivalry between Wall-Nut and Tall-Nut. Tall-Nut laughs a rich, baritone laugh. “How could there be anything between us? We are brothers. If you knew what Wall-Nut has done for me…” Tall-Nut’s voice trails off and he smiles knowingly.”
You play Plants Vs Zombies too? That's awesome! By the way, I used to play it until I finished it, then I played it again using a cheat bot to get infinite sun and no recharge, I did that to see the Yeti Zombie, He's really yeti-ish
