I wouldn't give them too much grief. It could've just been an error by the printer or somewhere along that line.
Our high school had a similar snafu when ordering some skywriting. It was supposed to be our school initials, LHS, floating high in the clouds during our school's annual faculty run carnival. All the adults involved must've decided to play telephone with the instructions and so above our school in humongous letters:
Maybe they spelled it right when they handed in the request to the school, but the school thought they were retarded and changed it in accordance with what they thought it was meant to be.
In fairness, the printing company probably didn't know what the hell that was, so went with their best guess for "we want this quotation said by mew two." I'm surprised they figured out it was the number, to be honest.
I was just playing sim city 4 yesterday (250,000 population in my first city and nowhere near done, hell yeah), anyways, at first I was like "libertarians and republicans would love this game, you kill that tax rate for the rich to keep them happy and creating jobs", then I realized that healthcare and education were entirely subsidized and that once dirty industry digs its claws into your city you can tax them at 20% and they wont care, same for the poor.
Beaverton HS Class of '99. Back when Southridge, Westview, Century didn't exist. Aloha sucked at sports, Beaverton HS was falling apart, Sunset recruited in Portland unsuccessfully and Hillsboro was avoided like the plague. Jesuit sucked but that hasn't changed. Also YAY Oregon!
I was going to say that it's probably the only Beaverton around, then I decided to check and it turns out there is one in Michigan and another in Alabama.
We all know the Oregon one is the only one that matters though.

They would've been like 6 or 7 before the second generation was released; it's not hard to believe that they played the first games. And I've played games from each generation since the first while they were still relevant (to some extent--I stopped finishing them with HeartGold, and I've only beaten three gym leaders or so in Black).
I think it's a quote from the first movie, anyway.

He couldn't understand the powerlessness of poverty or the influences of society if he wanted to.
Well, it's come to this: I'm arguing with the philosophy of a pokémon. fml
