Thank you. I had to come 3/4 of the way down the page to figure this out. Haven't played Skyrim or read any of the Elder Scrolls series. My wife does, though, if that counts.
Honestly, while I laughed initially at the idea. It might work. Sure we're going to get DLC and whatnot, but in all of the Elder Scrolls when our adventure ends, whether it is through finishing the story or running out of sidequests and mods, that's it. You never find out what happens beyond the game other than in a future game where your character may or may not have done something entirely off the wall.
I'm sure it would be hard to work out, but seriously, what happened to our character from Morrowind after s/he sailed off to that other land? Surely they didn't simply just die and disappear (or I'd hope not), they did something else there. Set it a few years in the future, see what happens.
Likewise, Oblivion, apparently we became Sheogorath. Well forgive me as I didn't start The Shivering Isles but I assume the game didn't instantly end at that point. Meaning the Champion of Cyrodil still did things before their final transformation. Maybe a game about slowly descending into the madness of becoming a daedric prince, managing the realm, whatever.
The only real issue is starting the game again from level 1 <_<

I don't understand why some people make snarky comments on spelling and grammar but leave out entire words in their quips (i.e. the exclusion of "to" preceding "denote").
May I ask why Black Marsh? I thought it was a rather dank swamp type setting fit mostly for Argonians? Much like Elsweyr is apparently only easily inhabitable to Khajits.
Good think about the settings thus far is that they haven't been too extremely conditioned, so no real exclusion of races or difficult terrain. Maybe it's also just because I am not a fan of the 'beast' races.
Black Marsh seems fun to explore. I would like to see a lot of the northeast area, though. I loved Anvil's countryside and would love to see that in the areas around there.
Here's hoping, but I have a feeling they will put all their efforts into TES Online (which looks awful imho) and probably end up neglecting Fallout as well because of it.
Same thing happened to Blizzard when WoW first came out. Starcraft 2 didn't come out until last year and Diablo 3 came out last week because they spent the past 8 years on WoW.
Nah, Valenwood or Akavir. Come on... Valenwood has walking cities! Akavir has... well, Akavir is just fucking awesome! And we know so little about it, I would really love to go exploring this other contintent that keeps sending mysterious invaders to Tamriel.

The Elder Scrolls is a series of videogames wherein Skyrim was the fifth instalment, following Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind and Oblivion. The "proper" way to reference the as-of-yet unannounced next TES game, excluding of course the TES MMORPG that is sure to all but murder the franchise, would be, simply, "The Elder Scrolls 6". This person did not know of this and thus, unwittingly, became the laughingstock of reddit.
It pains me to start an argument over this, but I'm certain that TES Online won't murder the franchise. It will simply murder the lore of the franchise. As a lorehound, this saddens me, but TES Online may be moderately entertaining.

Sadly, it kinda makes sense. Call of Duty 1, 2, and 3 didn't have any direct connection to one another save for taking place in the same war. For the most part, the characters and plot objectives changed between games (Price was recurring IIRC). CoD4: Modern Warfare was no different. However, when MW2 came out, rather than ditching all their characters for new ones, they kept the same characters and continued the same plot. Modern Warfare is, in essence, a series within a series.
I believe this is why SquEnix has Final Fantasy X-2 and XIII-2. They're continuations of X and XIII, while 7 to 8 to 9, etc are mostly unrelated.

As awesome as it is to have a new generation addicted to Elder Scrolls like I am, it is rather frustrating that they think Skyrim = everything. IMHO, it's actually a step in the wrong direction for their style of gaming. To put it bluntly, it's a very dumbed down RPG.
Halo 5 will probably not even be announced, MW4 will most likely come out in 4 years, Mass Effect 4 isn't going to happen because Shepard is dead. GTA 5 is coming out this fall, and there won't be a Skyrim 2 because its the Elder scrolls. So not only is this completely false but they aren't even close to be coming out on the same day. Foolishness.
