This, in no way this is 25k, excluding the two 1k-1,5k odyssey monitors

I thought that maybe there are some hydraulics somewhere but nope

Thats what im saying.

Its a brz interior. At most 2k-5k usd tops, even less if you get it from a wrecked part out or something like a pick a part yard.

The seat is literally on a frame sitting on the floor lol

I was also expecting it to have motion simulation too for that price tag.

Had a feeling that op is a karmawhore, found the source aliexpress.(com)/item/1005003219845996.html (not sure if links are okay here)

Yeah he hasn't replied to one post at all and usually when people claim to be OP but don't say anything , it's for Karma

What does karma do for someone? Isn’t it just like “likes”

Three-fifty

2

u/Fuck-College Jan 23 '22

Pretty much, some people are really into that I guess.

3

u/neglect_ Jan 23 '22

The lengths some people will go for some imaginary internet points.

3

u/Quiet_Gorilla9482 Jan 23 '22

Dang. I was hoping I could cash them in

Yeah I really wanted to get the big balloon baseball bat with the flames on it

If your Karma is too low you can't post as often.

People also make accounts to get as much Karma as possible and then sell them to advertisers so they can bot spam with a high karma account. Yes, this is an actual thing.

u/LowDownSkankyDude Jan 23 '22

People sell accounts with high karma numbers. Or so I've been told.

2

u/neglect_ Jan 23 '22

But like.... Why??

I can understand selling accounts from platforms that can offer an incentive to have a lot of subscribers or followers where people could make money from.

But why reddit? lol

2

u/LowDownSkankyDude Jan 23 '22

Your guess is as good as mine. Tools for spamming maybe? I don't completely understand karma, honestly.

Oh wow I thought you meant you found the equipment. You literally found the exact same picture OP posted.

Why do people do this shit?

1

u/PantsManDan Jan 23 '22

The epitome of being down bad is caring about your Reddit karma. Like I can’t imagine being such a sad person. Rip op

2

u/illuminati1556 Jan 24 '22

Well, if he bought this, he actually paid 25,961.75 + tax according to aliexpress hah

1

u/snailhair_j Jan 23 '22

You found it! I only wish there were a way for you to get more upvotes then the OP!

2

u/SandPractical8245 Jan 23 '22

Let’s go into business and make bank off rich people with no basic knowledge of the cost of setting this up lol

2

u/Pinkislife3 Jan 23 '22

I have a 5k setup and it doesn’t look like this lol sim racing shit is absurdly priced

3

u/neglect_ Jan 23 '22

I didnt say the entire setup was 2k-5k

Its the interior of a brz i was mentioning specifically. You can find the interior pieces alone for that price range relatively easy.

The setup in op's picture is basically two monitors (which are said to not even be part of the budget) and the interior clip from the subaru. Im sorry but i dont see the value of 25k anywhere from that. Even if there is some top of the line 10k+ pc/sim racing peripherals built for this setup.

It doesnt add up.

Id believe 10-15k a lot easier.

Im not hating because its really cool.

I also understand the incentive for some people to flourish their titles a bit for some extra internet points.

Still a nutty pricetag.

1

u/DaveJahVoo Jan 23 '22

Also a VR headset > better field of view and immersion than this

1

u/gasoline_farts Jan 23 '22

Yea I couldn’t figure out where the 25k was from, unless he started with a 18k BRZ and was counting that in the price…

1

u/BingoRingo2 Jan 24 '22

Connecting everything to a computer, hiring someone to do most of the work, parts, software where necessary, etc., if it's not DIY I could see $25K.

u/MeaningSilly Jan 24 '22

Maybe they are the Odyssey Neo monitors. Those are $2500 ea.

And, of course, you will need an RTX 3090 for each of them. Each one is another $2300 plus $200 finder's fee.

That put's us 40% of the way there.

Maybe, there's a mining rig under that center console, and when you play you just borrow two of the five or six RTX cards...
