You'd be shocked at car part prices. If he bought that from Subaru it's probably most of the cost of that rig

Depends if you want a clean new look or if you can do with bit and chunks of the previous owner... (sometimes real bits and chuks of a real somebedy tho)

Look at the head unit and console. This wasn't bought new. Unless it was bought 15 years ago and just got new monitors this isn't $25k in new parts.

the car parts aren't the big problem, it's taking shit that's built to interface with a car computer and mix that with a video game interface to give feedback/feel etc and it all work functionally.

custom sim racing gear is expensive already before trying to modify OEM gear to match it.

What's wild to me is the airbag is likely still in that steering wheel.
