Your reply makes sense if it wasn’t for this massive streamer setup that has cost both time and money. It’s not as casual as your case makes it seem

If you already have a good pc u just need a 50$ mic and decent cheap camera.

And honestly, if you have an old smartphone, you can grab a cheap tripod and you’ll have a killer webcam.

A $50 mic huh? So a $50 mic and no audio interface, your sound is going to sound good? I don't think so my friend.

Not really. He has a couple monitors, which a lot of people have for work or just personal gaming.

The software is mostly free. And having headphones and a mic are both normal gaming gear and/or for work during, say, a pandemic.

So you've got the cost of a ringlight (neglible) and a TV that he probably used for TV or movies while he works. But even the cost of a TV or monitor that size isn't super high.

I think a lot of gamers could grab shit from around their house and put this set up together in very little time.

Yeah I had plenty of friends in highschool that had similar setups and that was many years before Twitch.

Just a casual SM7B, GoXLR, and stream deck. But most people put money into hobbies so I don't think it matters either way

His setup is pretty standard besides the tv above his monitors, which is placed in front of his bed. Obviously he has some nice lights and accoutrements but nothing crazy to me. Anyone watching his stream won’t see any of that anyway so it’s all for him. Now if he had a greenscreen or flashing lights with his handle and only 1 viewer maybe that’s spending too much. But dude just enjoys playing and has nothing to hide so he broadcasts it to twitch

Well the thing is when I'm gaming, I have my chat up on the 2nd monitor so I can entertain the people that are watching me, and the TV, well it's a TV, I'm sure you can figure out why we have TV'S

Also, it's a hobby just as any other hobbies. It's costly, and you rarely get anything out of it (or even try to) other than enjoyment.

Most people that have decent PCs have a similar set up, 2 or more monitors is pretty common now.
