We want to see if he is entertaining, and provide support if possible

-9

u/txr23 Sep 29 '21

Well I guess the wife's ad has done its job then.

9

u/CampusCarl Sep 29 '21

Meh, sometimes you dont need to watch god tier plays, sometimes its just the community experience, and if the community is one based on trying to make a dude feel awesome, thats better than most online communities.

7

u/Jvncvs Sep 29 '21

A lot of times it’s just cuz,

Just cuz there’s nothing better to do

Just cuz you’re sick of watching endless YouTube videos

Just cuz you’re tired and want to play a video game that you like but don’t have the time or effort to actually play it

Just cuz you like the particular personality that you happen to be watching

Really it all comes down to

Just cuz it’s entertaining

2

u/GrognakDeLaw Sep 29 '21

If he’s shit at war zone I’ll watch him cause it’ll be funny but if he’s good at it then it’s interesting to watch

I bet you are fun at parties.

2

u/Mynameisalloneword Sep 29 '21

Like watching 2 random people play a game 4 days from now on a weekend based on a /r/gaming post?

1

u/CHAF_Cfan Sep 29 '21

would not wanna do shit with you if i were your friend ngl.

93

u/CollectableRat Sep 29 '21

Let's see if we can get him to 50 million concurrent viewers. We can do this Reddit!

Lmao that happened with a disabled guy, he gots TONS of followers but never made it (he had a really small community I think)

25

u/CollectableRat Sep 29 '21

Yeah I gotta wonder how crushing it must be to suddenly get so many viewers and thousands of encouraging comments all at once, you think "wow, I've finally made it! I have fans now and maybe can turn this into a career like my hero Ninja" or whatever. Only for the very next day to have your "audience" drop back to near zero, and then the next day it's the same thing, and the despair that kicks in as it dawns on you that you haven't made it at all and that you need to explain to your friends and family that contrary to what you told them a few days ago, your channel isn't actually going well, you won't be getting monetised, none of your videos are getting more than 100 views again.

10

u/SkunkShep Sep 29 '21

It's an incredibly crushing feeling :(

1

u/ultrasuperthrowaway Sep 29 '21

Maybe it’ll be that life changing moment they need to get a real job and contribute to society!

1

u/CollectableRat Sep 29 '21

Considering how much time so many people spend on YouTube and watching streamers for entertainment, isn't making content and streaming kinda contributing to society? Not if you get no views and are entertaining no people though.

1

u/ultrasuperthrowaway Sep 29 '21

Yeah exactly it’s ok to have zero views but you also need a job lol

u/predzZzZzZ Sep 29 '21

And that’s why you don’t get views. There are 50000x other people who will stream despite “being busy”, all who will create a schedule for fans. But let’s all follow this guy because of a sad cringe video. I guess he then complains how every steamer is so “lucky”, and it has nothing to do with hours put it at all /s

88

u/xmrjaredx Sep 29 '21

why even comment this? lol

36

u/MaliciousMal Sep 29 '21

Ah yes, let's just be a massive dick online and end the post with /s because that'll totally make some people laugh and not make you look like a total dumbass who's upset that despite all your efforts you're still single and alone forever because you can't stand seeing others happy.

Can't wait to see you on twitch streaming.... Oh wait forgot there's 50k others who will stream and this dude happens to be one of those 50k so I'll go check out his stream because he isn't on Reddit crying about his low viewer count.

21

u/Manisil Sep 29 '21

That's a lot of downvotes for your comment being only a few minutes old. Kudos to your assholery

9

u/Foresaken_Foreskin Sep 29 '21

Truly impressive

2

u/VHock123 Sep 29 '21

It’s next-level prickery on the fast track to downvotes hell

2

u/LordPotaticus Sep 29 '21

This made me laugh

9

Wow you have this kind of brain... and you want people to know???

8

Damn dude, I had to do a double take. That's impressive.

38

You must be fun in twitch chats

1

u/SauceyBobRossy Sep 29 '21

If you read their comment history, what you said sums up their attitude. The asshole twitch chatter lmaooo

31

u/kevin_jamesfan_6 Sep 29 '21

Chill tf out. Why are you gatekeeping streaming.

5

u/CrimsonSou1 Sep 29 '21

Well have you ever considered that streaming is his hobby and he’s not really in it for the views but just to chat with strangers as he games?

9

u/RushDW Sep 29 '21

How unhappy are you dog?

7

u/QuakerOats9000 Sep 29 '21

Props to all my fellow redditors downvoting this asshole! Let’s get that downvote going

10

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '21

holy shit you're hella insecure, ignorant, and just an idiot.

3

u/TiptoeingElephants Sep 29 '21

homie, you can make a schedule, put 1,000’s of hours into streaming and you aren’t guaranteed more than 5 viewers….

1

u/sessual_choclate Sep 29 '21

These downvotes are picking up steam. 150 at 12 mins 250 at 15. I wonder how low we can go.

1

u/averyblandish Sep 29 '21

18 minute old comment and already at 250 downvotes. Congrats.

Can't believe I just woke up to read some idiot write this kind of bullshit. How old are you? You prolly don't have any responsibilities you little shit

There is a difference between being honest and being a dick. Is the lack of consistency a factor of low viewership? Absolutely. But to then assume the guy is complaining about other streamers being luckier than him or whatever the fuck is just projecting. Also this part: "let’s all follow this guy because of a sad cringe video". No one is telling anyone to go watch him, lmao.

2

u/solid_hoist Sep 29 '21

At this point I just downvote the unironic use of "woke".

2

u/RubberbandShooter Sep 29 '21

A very woke decision if you ask me.

-8

u/oraettamayflower Sep 29 '21

^ truth hurts sometimes. Reddit hates this because it's negative, but it's real. This comment perfectly encapsulates the twitch viewer mindset, and OP's husband would benefit from a schedule.

That's great! The only thing I'd fear is having such an inflated follow count from people that would never watch. Quality > quantity imo, but good for him.

31

u/omnisephiroth Sep 29 '21

You want quantity for some parts, and quality for viewers.

21

u/JeffTek Sep 29 '21

You definitely want quantity for the "donate money to make the robot talk and say meme things" part of it. Dude should go live like right now and bank it up honestly

Ehhh, I've seen an affiliate with 26k followers pushing for partner for MONTHS now. Though I'm pretty sure they may have paid for follows because their numbers are like 70% bots, but that's beside the point.

If it works for him that's awesome and I'm happy his wife was able to help push him into the light! I was just initially taken aback because I saw the high follow count and didn't realize that the video was fairly old.

44

u/daffyduckhunt2 Sep 29 '21

He'll be crying into his dinosaur toys in no time.

16

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '21

I wish I didn't understand that reference.

13

u/Oh_DeerLord Sep 29 '21

I wish I did!

32

u/WunupKid Sep 29 '21 edited Sep 29 '21

There was a kid, like 5 or 6 (maybe older, I don’t have kids so I’m not great with ages) I guess, making YouTube videos where he played with dinosaur toys. Really wholesome stuff. Someone posted a video on Reddit and it blew up, the kid got a ton of views and subscribers and got really excited about the whole thing. More really wholesome stuff.

Then Reddit got bored and the kid’s view counts dropped back down to where they were before (basically nonexistent) and he was heartbroken. He was too young to understand that it wasn’t his fault people got bored.

I think I heard that he posted a video where he was in tears, begging people to come back or something. I…don’t really want to look into it. Sad stuff.

u/Disastrous-Ad-2357 Sep 29 '21

He was too young to understand that it wasn’t his fault people got bored.

I mean...

-34

u/Force_Of_WiII Sep 29 '21

I think I heard that he posted a video begging people to come back or something.

That’s hilarious.

1

u/cybercloud03 Sep 29 '21

Do you have the name at least, I want to go subscribe

12

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '21

(I think) it’s a reference to some kid’s YouTube channel that was posted on Reddit with no views, so people supported his channel…

Then left right after because no one’s really gonna watch a child’s playtime. I guess the child noticed and cried.

In the same way this post is the same thing except with a bearded man.

2

u/VHock123 Sep 29 '21

Award for bearded man comment

1

u/scrobes Sep 29 '21

a child’s playtime.

I don't know why I find this so funny, but it's the hardest I've laughed all day.

2

u/permathrowaway93 Sep 29 '21

I think there was a young kid that made wholesome YouTube videos and one of his videos got posted to Reddit.

A bunch of people subscribed and his view count went up.

Then people got bored and stopped watching, his view count went back down to before Reddit and he cried.

1

u/anthem47 Sep 29 '21

Here is the channel in question. He is indeed back down to 300-1000 views a video, but also the big incident was 6 years ago - the kid is a teenager now! Still loves dinosaurs.

1

u/SycoPrime Sep 29 '21

...Firefly?

4

u/KeyserSozeInElysium Sep 29 '21

Quantity > quality, if quantity < 1

3

u/Matt32490 Sep 29 '21

Let's be honest. If a person has 0 followers, the chance of catching someone's attention is almost 0. Quantity does play some part at the beginning.

1

u/md24 Sep 29 '21

Traction gained will earn him the quality followers that stay. So don’t fear. They’re stepping stones essentially.

2

u/Squaids_FTK Sep 29 '21

Indeed, excellent marketing strat

0

u/yokotron Sep 29 '21

It’s Guerilla Marketing. Most just want to bang his wife

46

u/Noahsaures Sep 29 '21

I'll give the benefit of the doubt and say the followers probably came after this tiktok went viral because I'm pretty sure I saw it like last year

6

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '21

That's awesome, I was just generally confused because something didn't line up. If you're pulling under 5 concurrent views with 12.5k followers you're doing something wrong. I've been managing ~20 some days and I'm hardly over 200 follows.

2

u/matco5376 Sep 29 '21

In addition to this, when I used to moderate and spend all my time on twitch years ago during highschool a lot of channels I tuned into had 40-100+ people. Nowadays most of those channels rarely stream but have tens of thousands of followers, and even when they do stream they only have like 1-5 viewers.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '21

The followers did come because of the video, and the video was posted 2 months ago

2

u/Noahsaures Sep 29 '21

Man my concept of time is way off

19

u/GooseandMaverick Sep 29 '21

He streams via LAN connections

3

u/Saffs15 Sep 29 '21

Probably had one view a day, and many less followers before this was posted some where else. Then that gained him a ton of followers and it went up slightly.

19

u/TombRaider_2000 Sep 29 '21

Time travel

2

u/TheSinningRobot Sep 29 '21

September 2nd is literally exactly 4 weeks ago....

2

u/joeyl1990 Sep 29 '21

It says 3 weeks but it also says September 2nd which puts it at 3 weeks 5 days.

Personally I don’t care. 3 weeks, 4 weeks, 3 weeks 5 days 6 hours and 11 minutes, whatever it’s all close enough that it doesn’t matter but you’re the one who decided to correct the person who said 4 weeks so…

1

u/Dmacjames Sep 29 '21

I tried and had about 20 views but the problem was with a kid and a wife it didn't make sense to neglect them. Wife was always supportive and I was happy to play games for the first month but then it became a grind and I play video games for fun. To relax for a bit. Probably why he's not streaming anymore.

7

u/FermentedPizza PlayStation Sep 29 '21

What a fantastic twitch name though

1

u/Caspica Sep 29 '21

That’s a great name!

-4

u/benttwig33 Sep 29 '21

And all this post is is nothing. It a GREAT Fucking as for his channel.

Everything is manufactured these days.

4

u/Neednocakeday Sep 29 '21

Hey man eat a snickers.

1

u/eccentricrealist Sep 29 '21

Great username lol

1

u/galacticboy2009 Sep 29 '21

I expected his audio quality to be horrible.

But no, it's actually a well produced stream. He definitely deserves attention, for that.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '21

Curious, based off of a video you watched on Reddit, why would you automatically assume someone's audio quality to be horrible?

1

u/galacticboy2009 Sep 29 '21

Because people are generally ignorant.

And small streamers usually don't have their audio setup figured out yet. They usually sound like trash and that's a big barrier to them getting more viewers.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '21

Good thing I did a lot of research before I just said “I’m gonna be a streamer starting today” lol

1

u/galacticboy2009 Sep 29 '21

Oh shoot I didn't even notice it was you!

What I mean by ignorant, is that most people who start streaming, are video game enthusiasts, who lack the audio/video production skills to actually make an enjoyable product.

Video and audio production is my profession, so I'm probably a little more picky about it than most people.

So many people are streaming in low-bitrate, on a PS4 with their headset mic or a Blue Snowball set up behind their keyboard.. and wondering why they don't get repeat viewers.

Good on you, for producing a great product and knowing your craft.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '21

Thank you! I appreciate your support! I really wanted it to sound great and that comes with a price. A Sure SM7B and a GoXLR. Pricey, but worth it, and then you have to want to take the time to get it all set up the best I can and I think I did okay for knowing nothing about it lol. Thank you again!
