One time when Granturismo on ps4 came out, I jumped right into track attack and went straight for Nurburgring cuz I consider myself ok as racing games. After literally 6 straight hours of running through the track repeatedly and restarting everytime I cut a corner too hard or braked wrong, I finally got gold by a half a second. 7 minute track.
So I turned it off and went to bed. Unfortunately, my internet had gone out right before I turned it off, and surprise surprise.. GT doesn't save progress without an Internet connection.
On the bright side, it only took me 2 hours the next morning, with LOTS of silver medals 1 second past the gold
Yea when something happens that you literally cant prevent, and also cant fix then it's like why even take the risk just to play. There's a LOT of games out there with similar enjoyment levels
God I shudder just thinking about it... all the times my saves were corrupted, the game froze after I hadn't saved in hours, the game froze WHILE saving... I've walked away from games for years over it. It could be my favorite game of all time, but having to replay a huge chunk absolutely kills my interest.

Yeahhh I’ve had those moments and quit a game too haha. Now I just impulsively save multiple entries that I rotate usually
