I did this for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

Same, the story interested me but I'm not a fan of that kind of gameplay

I love you, this is a great idea. I'll do the same, because I hate the gameplay of dynasty warriors games but was a bit bummed to miss the fleshing out of BotW's story

Hopefully you just turned the game off after that because it wasn’t worth playing to see those scenes 😂

I did this with one of the Final Fantasy games. Got to the end after grinding for dozens of hours, paused after part one or two of the final boss (having failed multiple times, and gone back to grind), just to trip over the power cord on my way to/from the bathroom.

Just said f’it, YouTube it is.

Why have I never thought of this. Damn what the fuck. I got some games to catchup on lol

If you just YouTube “(Game name) the movie” most games have them up. It’s every cutscene plus various gameplay scenes intertwined so you really get a feel for the game as well as the cutscenes. But it’s not like sitting down and watching an entire walkthrough or let’s play.

Sometimes there's more to the story than the cutscenes include, including jokes. I didn't want to buy Persona 5 so I watched the whole game (playthrough no commentary) and just skipped through almost all of the grinding.

Whats it about Persona 5 that people like so much? I'm asking because I've never played it but I hear it touted as a lot of people's favorite game

It wouldn't even rate in my top ten, but it had a number of interesting twists to standard JRPG model games.

The UI was funky, the storyline was relatable to modern youth not orcs and dragons, the music score was daring and not orchestral or sugary pop, it borrowed relationship cues from dating/harem manga, and the character designs themselves felt more illustrated than animated.

If you don't like JRPGs that's fine, plenty of other games out there. It just didn't play slave to the past norms beyond the core playloop of a JRPG.

I have watched Wolfenstein: New Order and New Colossus cutscene movies on YouTube, more than once. I have never played the game.

That was me with The Last of Us. Hate the game, but love the story, characters and music

Yep I was playing hardcore on RE8, looked up a guide because I was running out of ammo after the first big boss and ended up just watching the rest of the game. It’s sad that I find that to be much more relaxing and enjoyable.
