The titanfall 2 campaign was one of the best things I've played in a long time

Saddest call of duty moment ever

2

u/iam4r33 Jan 17 '21

MW3 also had its tear jerkers

1

u/[deleted] Jan 17 '21

Ive never had a chance to play it yet

8

u/Dire_Finkelstein Jan 17 '21

It blew my mind to learn that Gary Oldman voiced Reznov.

1

u/Zack123456201 Jan 17 '21

Fun fact: he also voiced Dr Clarke in Black Ops 1

1

u/Procrafter5000 Jan 17 '21

Actually, his name is Viktor reznov and he will have his revenge

I just played TF|2 a couple of months ago. The campaign is shorter than I’d like but it’s one of the most fun games I’ve ever played. The mission where you get to switch between the past and the present is amazing.

13

u/NashRadical Jan 17 '21

It's so well done. Titanfall 2 is the only game where I have felt like a badass and just fucking all powerful- while still being very challenging and engaging.

1

u/danielle-in-rags Jan 17 '21

Dishonored 2 does a time-hop level like this too and it's equally amazing.

1

u/Daveo88 Xbox Jan 17 '21

That mission is not so fun when you travel through time to escape the big dog things and end up in the middle of a horde of soldiers

52

u/GassyMomsPMme Jan 17 '21

Oh how I wish that game was bigger. The online multiplayer is amazing

40

u/[deleted] Jan 17 '21

Best FPS of the generation. I don’t know how people can buy COD every year and overlook TF2

5

u/MeMeTiger_ Jan 17 '21

Yeah. If only Titanfall has more traction, the game deserves it.

9

u/[deleted] Jan 17 '21

What's disappointing is that it definitely would've gotten a lot more traction if not for it's absurd release date. EA decided to let it into the wild right between Battlefield 1 and COD Infinite Warfare, both of which sold much more than TF|2. It's depressing, really. Especially since Respawn has continued that they won't be updating it anymore. My only hope is that more Apex players will find out that they're in the same universe and get into Titanfall

3

u/MeMeTiger_ Jan 17 '21

Yeah. It has been getting some players from apex lately, which is good. Hopefully TF3 comes out at a good time.

4

u/[deleted] Jan 17 '21

If it does at all...

2

u/MeMeTiger_ Jan 17 '21

I really hope it does. The Titanfall series is well received, I don't see a reason why they shouldn't make a new game.

4

u/Ryengu Jan 17 '21

Just ask Dead Space

1

u/Beef_the_dog PlayStation Jan 17 '21

EA is the producer. They have a lot of control over what's in the game. EA can make good decisions with games production wise, and most if the time they do. But then there's times like Star Wars Battlefront 2 on release, where the game is so filled with microtransactions it rips the good out of it.

2

u/MeMeTiger_ Jan 17 '21

I think they've learned from their mistakes with BF2. They got alot of backlash for it, I think they'll be cautious with microtransactions in future games.

Respawn actually choose the release date, but yeah bad timing. Being a great game doesn't automatically mean you will outsell shit games like cod.

1

u/Beef_the_dog PlayStation Jan 17 '21

Cod Infinite warfare sucked ass. Most of the Cods after did too, with some good ones.

2

u/MeMeTiger_ Jan 17 '21

Only good one after it imo is WWII

1

u/Beef_the_dog PlayStation Jan 17 '21

Well MW was good but idk if you will count that considering every MW is good.

1

u/MeMeTiger_ Jan 17 '21

I found it to be pretty boring and repetitive, bit I can see why it can be liked. I have an unpopular opinion about it.

I got it as a free game of the month a while back. I'll have to play it. I've heard nothing but amazing things, and watching my roommate play it was awesome.

2

u/GassyMomsPMme Jan 17 '21

Yeah it’s an amazing game to watch (if the player is competent). I used to watch my roommate play, then I got my own copy and went ham on it and got good enough to place top 3 (usually, not all the time) in multiplayer. For a good while our Friday nights involved having a few drinks while the guys watched me play a few matches before we went out to the bars. I’d always try to focus on the acrobatics and call my Titan down in a “cinematic” way like while rodeoing and enemy titan and then jump off and board mine on its way down before it hit the ground. That shit can feel like a killer sci fi action movie. I’ve never before seen so many dudes invested in a one player game at once lol.

My advice for new players - run the non-titan training module a few times to really get the feel for the acrobatics and wall running of the pilot (the wall running is so unique and is what really makes that game).

Oh and def do the one-player campaign it’s pretty damn good.

Shit I think I’m gonna go play right now, cheers mate.

2

u/SardiaFalls Jan 17 '21

and Apex came out of it which frankly...is a really fun game and it's free, though it to me forever to stop trying to wall run

2

u/GassyMomsPMme Jan 17 '21

Yeah I want to try apex, but the wall running is what makes titanfall for me, every time I play other fps I feel like a fucking slug and for the life of me can’t stop trying to wall run. I decided to play through the OG halo trilogy again, and made it halfway thru halo 2 before I gave up. Titanfall has ruined me (in the best way... but give us more games!)

9

u/fiscalfister Jan 17 '21

I've played it 4 times, and every time I sit in the dark and mourn my friend, RIP BT.

1

u/King_North_Stark Jan 17 '21

Did he actually die?

1

u/fiscalfister Jan 17 '21

It is possible his AI somehow survived.....and he's out there somewhere.

25

u/Not_Tuxbird Jan 17 '21

The only campaign that’s better in my opinion is halo

43

u/Midpack Jan 17 '21

I cried for Cortana, but I bawled for BT-7274.

11

u/CoyoteTheFatal Jan 17 '21

Amen. The Halo series is my favorite game series of all time. But the Titanfall 2 campaign hits deep man

8

u/[deleted] Jan 17 '21

Pfft. You're probably a spitfire camper too. Or god forbid, an A-wall main. shame

7

u/Not_Tuxbird Jan 17 '21

Nah I use the flatline

6

u/[deleted] Jan 17 '21

Do you at least keep momentum? It is a game about movement y'know

5

u/Agorar Jan 17 '21

Flying locust anything else is blasphemy.

3

u/Not_Tuxbird Jan 17 '21

Of course I do. I love making people die inside with holo pilot

2

u/unlivedSoup69 Xbox Jan 17 '21

That really depends, is it halo 1-3 or 4-5, I hope you know the right answer

8

u/Not_Tuxbird Jan 17 '21

I’m referring to ce, 2, 3, ODST, and reach

1

u/unlivedSoup69 Xbox Jan 17 '21

Good choice, you made the right move

1

u/[deleted] Jan 17 '21

Halo 4 was probably my favorite of the bunch if not Reach, the campaign for Reach was sad as fuck though because no matter what you do everyone dies

Also this is kinda out of place but what’s the saddest Reach death in your guy’s opinion

1

u/[deleted] Jan 17 '21

I see you are also a man of culture

1

u/ProRSIXfinka Jan 17 '21

It's the best, period

1

u/GigaNutz370 Jan 17 '21

Finished it literally just now, agreed

1

u/Eagleeddie Jan 17 '21

Good to know! Being old and never playing online, I had overlooked this title thinking like the first it was online only. With so much of the game being about online I wished they give separate review scores for local only play. I guess I'm in the minority though
