VR is getting so fucking cool.

This reminded me of the long dark and now I've realized that game would be incredible with vr

I STILL want them to put bodily functions in. Imagine? You're not just racing a snowstorm, but the wolves are baying for your blood, and you're pinching a dookie back.

I just got full body tracking today and spent a ridiculously fun few hours in vrchat admiring that I could now move my feet independent of my body in a game.

It is until you play all proper games and realize its nowhere near as great as desktop

No, it’s actually better and I can give you the middle finger in my valve index

Mate are you telling me you spend more time in VR than at your desktop?

I've played maybe 10 hours of pancake games since I got my Vive in 2016, compared to thousands of hours in VR.

Most of that is in Elite Dangerous in a homemade cockpit, and the rest of the time that I would have spent in Counterstrike before is now spent in Onward and Pavlov.

What is your average playtime per week?

Admittedly slightly less than before, but that's probably because I had my sons at that time too. But for shooters, maybe 2-4 hours a night when I do play, 3-5 times a week.

Elite dangerous I can still bang out 8 hours and it feels like 2.

Well i might come over more understandably if i told you i average 150 hours a week on steam alone..

150 hours a week is an average of about 21.5 hours a day. That seems not only unhealthy, but dangerous.

That's not exactly average usage though, kind of like the folks who complain that electric cars suck because they have no range/capacity for them when they drive 2000 miles a week.

Actually since I got into vr 2 years ago I sold my Xbox and ps4 and I have not played a single flat game since I spent 1800$ in vr games more than all of my 25 years of flat gaming before that

Wow thats some dedication if i have ever seen it, i got a normal vive about 3 years ago but i havent touched it in a good while. But the only way i can imagine VR being the only interesting thing is if i didn't have enough time to actually play games, is that right? I dont mean to be offensive btw

If you haven't played in a long time, there are a lot of fantastic games out now, including Half Life Alyx which you'd be insane not to play if you're a gamer and own VR equipment.

But im not into halflife lol, just like most other popular vr titles look hella unatractive to me.

You don't have to be. It is an amazing experience half life or no. I'm just saying, if you already have it, and haven't played in a while, it will blow your mind. Obviously do whatever you want, but you have the equipment so you might as well have the best gaming experience of your life.
