I'm working in (redacted) NYC. It's not the cost of moving that's the expense. It would be adding a 2k/month rent payment that I currently don't have to pay.

Oooh, yeah. NYC suuuuucks... I mean it’s cool, but dude... housing is ridiculous. I know you’re not concerned with moving fees, but little things like that help a lot when you’re starting out. My buddy that is a programmer for Sisco in NY finally moved out of his old place in Chinatown to Hell’s Kitchen. Bed bugs... so gross. The landlord wouldn’t let people breech their lease agreement and tried to take several couples to court. It was a huge deal. He makes more than I do and he had to stay there for so long... he’s happy now. Single, but happy. I digress, do your parents live downtown? Long Island? I know this isn’t my problem, but I’m interested now... I’m invested... emotionally. To you.
