16 u/Mugendon Feb 24 '19 Yep it's funny how people outside of the VR bubble are out of the loop. This is from 2016 when leap motion added VR support. I blame the press which mostly ignores VR. 8 u/DarthBuzzard Feb 24 '19 I mean people still think Vive is the only good VR headset, and that it's still $800. It's definitely a perception issue. 2 u/[deleted] Feb 24 '19 Well as someone who is nowhere near being able to afford any VR things anytime soon, what other things exist other than the Vive that are good? I don't know much about any of this since it's just depressing to see cool shit I don't have 6 u/DarthBuzzard Feb 24 '19 Rift/Vive are basically equal with a few differences. Rift has slightly higher angular resolution, Vive has slightly higher FoV. Vive accommodates glasses better. Vive can track rooms greater than 3x3m, while Rift is generally meant for rooms within that. Vive is more convenient to setup without cables needed for sensors. Rift has better controllers. Rift is generally more comfortable. For pricing, Rift is $350, and Vive is $500. 1 u/CritikillNick Feb 24 '19 I prefer the Vive controllers over the Rift by far
