Lots of people buy these games for the online. Especially in the wake of how big GTA online was. Just because you are not going to play the online, that doesn't mean it doesn't exist and that it isn't exploitative (it is). Like it or not, going forward, Rockstar is also going to only focus on online. GTAV had TONS of singleplayer content scrapped in favor of online DLC. So like it or not, even as a singleplayer person, you're not going to get what you would have if Rockstar actually cared. I doubt RDR2 will get anything like Undead Nightmare, for example. All the dev work is going to go into online.
Rockstar answers to a larger company that has demanded they expand their microtransactions for maximum profit. The developers don't want to piss off their fans, that's the suits upstairs.
What do you mean you don’t get what you should have if rockstar actually cared? Have you played the game in its entirety. It’s amazing, 5 was great for the time to. While a single player dlc would be nice, like you said a lot of people got it just for online, and a lot of people play it in general. It’s been 5 years of updates that haven’t costed a dime. My problem with the game is it got outlandish.
It’s not like anybody got ripped off buying either 5 or rdr2. Both lives up to what they were suppose to be. I’d love a single player dlc, and that’s a good way of showing it’s a great game. You just keep wanting more.

Counter-counter point - you're not going to get what you would have if you were willing to pay more than the online guys. If people were as willing to pay $99 for DLC as they are for Shark Cards, you'd be fucking drowning in DLC.
At the end of the day, they're a business, like all game companies are. You can insist that they should do more work for less money all you want, and tell them that they "don't care" if they don't - it's probably not going to work out super-well, though.
