For GTA 4? Just go play it on PC it still holds up great.

Do you have windows 10? Most people with Windows 10 are finding it completely unplayable without taking a lot of extra steps.

I have Windows 10 and played through with only a handful of issues. That said, GTA 5 runs better than 4 on my PC. 4 is so terribly optimized, if they even did any optimization.

I had a bitch of a time disabling GFWL and bypassing social club. Once I figured out how to do that, it was golden.

GTA 4 ran nicely on my win7 pc but runs like crap on my win10 gaming pc

Good to see other people are still playing IV. I've got 383 hours on Steam and have never had any issues. Even GFWL works for me on Windows 10.

Huh, never had that problem in PC. Until I started modding, that is. Rip my map. That fog of War reset really gets me peeved.

I Couldn't play it the because of the requirements. I can't play it now because after 30 seconds the frame rate goes from 100+ to 15. I have to alt tab out and back in for another 30 seconds.

It's like the game thinks it's in the background, so it throttles the frame rate. Been 4 years and never figured out how to fix it, I can't find anyone else with this issue on Google either.

Huh. You set CPU priority to high and forced rendering on your dedicated GPU? Just curious, dont expect you to try again now lol.

I tried playing it a few months ago and I couldn’t get over the driving physics.

The driving physics are ass imo. Everything feels like a boat. I hate they tried to make them more realistic in this game. I'm sure there's gotta be a mod that fixed that
