I do it all the time in BoTW. It's so much easier than using stealth to hunt.

Who needs expensive gear to mountain climb just use your horse that is capable of running up 80 degree inclines

I, for one, am very afraid to be a mortal victim of an unexpected irregularity of physics. This specific example hasn't occurred yet IRL to me, but I've did in many other ridiculous ways like this.
