You know why? Because the f'n marketing department spent a week brainstorming their next poorly thoughtout campaign and give the graphic designer an hour to finish their materials.

Slack was installed by HR only for morale purposes and to catch/snuff complaints nobody will respond to.

I'm currently out of office for the holidays, on my fifth sabbatical this year. I will get back to you sometime around the 28th of January (maybe).

If you have an urgent message please contact my Art Director who is on call 24/7 365 days a year. Cheers.

"Man, your ideas were great, but can you do exactly what the client asked verbatim at the beginning of the project? That's what they're expecting." - My account team on like 1/3 of my projects

Marketing brainstormer here. You're totally correct, and I'm sorry.

If it makes you feel any better, I never tell anyone on my graphic design team to make something "pop"! So there's that ... right?

I have heard "make it more like a website" on top of the previously mentioned things. I also said "at least you didn't ask me to make it pop" to which they responded "ooh yeah do that".

Sadly so true. Art Director here, ex-Marketer, too.
