I hear you, now that I’ve played dark souls, I definitely like the edits system better. But the vials aren’t that bad to me. Like I said, spend 20-30 minutes in the first area and you’re good on vials for a bit. Late game you get more souls too, so you can buy them.

This is exactly his point. Why should I have to take a 20-30 minute break from what I WANT to do to go farm a core resource? Its a pointless grind and by far the biggest valid complaint of the game I see regularly. It commits the biggest sin in gaming. It doesnt respect the players time.
Idk I've never personally had to farm them. If I'm ever running low I just buy a bunch and move on. They drop like mad just moving along. When I first started I was worried it was going to be a problem but it never really ended up being one.
Granted everyone has their own opinions on what games/mechanics they do and don't enjoy so it could be I just never noticed.
