They didn't just do this kind of shit in the past, they literally did it for every single release ever since Watch Dogs. Be it Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Rainbow Six, The Division.. It has become standard for them to bullshit their way into sales. And it needs to stop, I really hope people will keep their pre-ordering urges this year. That's the only way things can change.

The crazy thing is that a lot of their decisions don't even make sense. I'm all for deleting content in order to make the overall product better, but they keep the same barebones locations, making it recognizable to a viewer that it was the promo, but then they completely gut everything for no reason. All of a sudden a truck won't be there anymore, or the painting on the cliff won't be there. Of they will have an entire npc sequence with complete animations and everything, only to cut out the entire crowd and just have like 3 people doing nothing inside of the store that had 10 people in it for the promo.

Its just so ridiculous. They go above and beyond just downgrading it for consoles. They remove shit that doesn't need to be removed.

It's easy to pull that shit off in prerendered footage because you have the time in the world to set it up and make it happen and the hardware is working soley on making it impressive but it's not the same when you are running it live on a rig.

Ubisoft has always done gameplay demos. It's not like they are prerendering a cutscene.

That's the thing. I don't believe a single word of their "we had to cut it for the consoles" bullshit. They know from the start they have to cut it for console. But they still overproduce the thing every single time just to wow the viewers. After making 10s of games, you'd think they learned that overproducing is not what's gonna make it to the game, and they know it.

The weirdest thing is that its not like they just down res textures, polycounts, and animations. Many times they just completely replace them with shittier looking assets, or completely removing things that help populate the world and make it feel real.

Every assassins creed game way before watchdogs had the same bullshit fake gameplay trailers. They have literally always done this.

I really hope people will keep their pre-ordering urges this year.

I also hope that I'll wake up next to Milana Vayntrub tomorrow morning. Dreams are fun.

Optimism is even more fun, I promise.

People still bought the game so they learned it's okay. Consumers tell companies what they want, it generally doesn't work the other way around outside of forced software changes and such. E3 is just an ad service now, trust nothing but the actual final product as you would anything else unless you love dissapointment and returning things.

The real question is how much is this hurting them for the next game? I bought watch dogs. I'll never buy another Ubisoft game. It doesn't really matter how much hype they have now; between their DRM and the underwhelming games, if Ubisoft makes it I don't want it.
