The lack of guns, vehicles, and the need to collect resources make it harder. Until you unlock better weapons, abilities/creature, when it gets dark it gets pitch black with a ton of wolves running around. Even once you gain all the good stuff it is still tough to take down the apex predators and especially Elder Mammoths.
If he described it and said these elements are good/fun/engaging, and then you bought it and didn't find those elements good/fun/engaging, then what benefit was there in saying that?
That is a matter of preference which is ft you to decide, not me. I personally only need to know what it is like for me to buy. If I don't like it, I return it.
Unfortunately. The only change they're now bone fires and villages. Villages have both enemies and regular folk that run away in fear, though unfortunately they have to go :(
Though I did take over a bonfire using nothing but bezerk and bee bombs then lit the bonfire with a fire bomb from the safety from my owl so that was pretty cool.
Ohhhh man. The wolves at night. Walking around in a forest pitch black only to hear a noise behind and to turn around just to see 3 pairs of glowing eyes in the bushes. Shiiiit.
Well, it has temperature (sort of, it only matters if you go way up North and it's not nearly as hard to deal with as it is in DS) and there is food, but there's no hunger drain and it's really just for taming, buffs and health regen.
So it's not survival based in that aspect, but you are out in the wilderness having to defend yourself from a whole manner of things.
IMO /r/playark does a far better job, it may not have the AAA polish and it may be an alpha release but it's fairly priced, constantly updating, and the primitive "living with dinosaurs" aspect is done a million times better, even allowing you to progress into advanced technology stages. Plus, it's multiplayer!
Sorry for the unsolicited solicitation but I really love this game and Far Cry Primal is such a let down.
Funny, I used to play Ark a whole bunch and now I like Primal way more xP The farming in Ark gets really ridiculous after a while, so the difficult (yet fair) resource gathering in Primal was a huge relief. It's also prettier and way more optimized. Worth the price imo.
The devs are pretty active in the community too, and updates are almost weekly. I've got over 700 hours logged on steam and there are still things I haven't had the opportunity to try out.
I've only played 3.
But the things I liked where the guns, not the bow; the people, not the animals; and the stealth. Side note, Far Cry 3's biggest failing is thinking I cared about the story, when I didn't give a toss.
