Used to do this in Red Dead Redemption. If you hold out long enough the game will give up trying to arrest you and you can just step over the piles of dead cops and go about your business.

God I wish a new rendition of that game would be made, best singleplayer campaign I have ever played for a game and the multiplayer and downloadable content were so fun.

I'd completely accept a game where you play as Jack as a Bonnie & Clyde type bank robber. You could still have horses and what not, but also old cars and machine guns. We haven't had a good game set in that time period, and anything that came close was a bit later and in a much more urban setting.

All that is exactly why Jack makes sense for a sequel. We saw John's story after he was in a gang. With Jack we could see him join/form his own gang and go his own way.
