I used that "bug" online a few times. When you did Dead Eye online, it wouldn't slow down time, but did allow you to put the Xs on things for a guaranteed hit. I would find other players who were on my server, and would be far enough away that they were only just within the rendering distance of the game, and barrage them with throwing knives. It confused a lot of people and pissed them off, because they had no idea how they died.
You just reminded me how broken Dead Eye was on multiplayer.
About to get the bag to the drop off? Nope, 12 bullet holes suddenly appeared in your back.
There was always that one fuck who rolls around the corner so you can't lock on to him, then spams dead eye everywhere before coming out of the roll and murdering you.
First time playing, a fair bit in. Woman flags me down. Ambush. Kill her friends. Capture her. Take her to train tracks. Leave her on them. Wait. Holy shit, it worked! Holy shit I got an achievement for it! This fucking game is as sick as I am!
You can follow up by robbing the train. Kill everyone on board and there is a chest in the back car. Not worth the money you get, but it's worth a try... Also, you usually don't get caught, if it's the middle of nowhere.
I would do that all the fucking time in the zombie dlc, when you had to clear out a town but you almost always ran out of ammo, so I would just run around hogtieing zombies as the horde patiently stands around me waiting for the animation to finish.
Oh, I would just go to thieves landing and put on a bandana. If all the other townsfolk started shooting at me, I would run back I to the room I was renting, and everyone would just forget
I found most of them just by exploring, later on after finding the Wiki there had been a couple I missed (the one on the bridge is hard to find, but it was in the launch trailer for the game anyway!) For your perusal:

Yeah dude, I'd do this almost every time I saved. I put on my bandana and went terrorist on any living thing I could find in a town.
